Hi all
Ive just put this brushless sensored combo in my Vaterra Twin Hammers

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyki...-motor-and-120a-pro-esc-combo-1-10-scale.html

Its all installed correctly i.e wiring A-A, B-B, C-C. My problem is that everything is running in reverse. Ive reversed my TX & can get the controls running the correct way but Fwd is only at 25% power (because its actually reverse) & I have no brakes when going Fwd but I do in reverse. Ive tried rebinding the TX. Ive tried recalibrating the ESC with the TX in rev as well as norm but everything is still backwards. In the manual for the programming card it says that there should be an option to reverse the motor just before the punchrate setting but it isn't there. I downloaded the ESC software module from the Hobbyking website but it doesn't recognise my ESC. Ive contacted Hobbyking but they aren't any hlp either. Does anyone have this combo or any ideas on how to get this thing running properly. BTW my TX is a Spektrum DX4C.

Thanks in adavance...Bart

It might be worth mentioning the manual that came with the motor/esc states TX should be rev before calibrating but if I have it in reverse when I pull the trigger (fwd) it does nothing. If I push fwd (rev) it will see it but again everything is backwards.

So if you calibrate it with things set to normal, and then reverse the tx in the "Switch" menu, nothing works?

Ive tried calibrating in both fwd & reverse. If I do it in normal fwd turns the wheels backwards but the speed is correct i.e when I pull the trigger the wheels go fuul speed (but backwards) & the brake works & reverse (which is going fwd is at 25% speed. When I then change it to rev after that the wheels go fwd but only @ 25% & no brake & reverse is fuul speed. If I try & calibrate the ESC with the TX set to rev it doesn't recognise when I pull the trigger. I have to push fwd (rev) before it sees the input.

you would probably have to reverse the rotation of the motor in the esc settings...thats what i have to do on the MMP

If you're taking about reversing in the Tx you need to rebind. Says that in my manual anyway for my DX4S when using the SRS4210 receiver. I believe everything is set back to nornal, not reversed in the tx before your rebind. Do you have a manual for your transmitter?

You MAY have to reverse 2 of the wires that go to the motor BUT first read the manual and possibly call the manufacturer and make sure that it is safe to do so. I've had to do it to a Dynamite sensored brushless combo that I have. I tried it on another brand and it didn't go so well. So please read and possibly call before you do.

looks like it came with the programing card, you should download the software for it here, if it didnt come with it...go to that page and click on the purple file tab and download the file. run it and it should show you what you can change

Ive been trying for days & this is driving me crazy! If anyone has time could you PLEASE download the file & see if it works for you? It installs but then does nothng

Do you have the esc hooked up to a battery when trying to link to your computer? Certain devices have an issue of inadequate power through the USB when trying to use Castle Link, perhaps this is a similar issue? Unless the directions expressly forbidden having a battery hooked up.

Yes its hooked up to the battery as well as the pc. The program doesn't seem to work at all even in demo mode it does nothing. I DL the hobby wing version & that doesn't recognise my ESC of course but at least I can use demo mode & look around the program, but the Hobbyking one does nothing.

i downloaded it and it does nothing for me either.... maybe you should return it and get a better system.

I don't know the guts of a Vaterra, but is it possible to switch the ring and pinion around in both axles like you can with the Wraith? If it is possible, that would take care of your dilemma.
