Mini Bench Top Drill

Have you looked at a bit larger drill presses? For a couple hundred bucks you could get a nice eight inch counter top drill press.

I do have one of those in the garage...but i'm too lazy to go out there:) Especially since it was 2 below zero the other day. haha

Just looking for a smaller unit for the basement workspace.

Personally, I would not repurpose my Dremel for anything I don't have to. I burn through them kind of quick as is, "good" ones or cheap ones.

The other two look interesting but I have no experience, sorry.

I haven’t tried any of those that are listed, but I do have something similar to this I bought from Harbor Freight a few years ago. Perfect size to sit on my shelf and it does all I need for my hobbies. The price ain’t too bad either.

Dremel as a drill sucks, and the bit holding leaves a lot to be desired, particularly the higher rpm makes the bits wobble. I tried it way back when I was still a student in high school and that's all I could do, since my work area was my room.

That watchmaker's drill press looks promising, but I don't have any experience with it. I use the 8" on my bench since I sold the full size one recently to start clearing out my garage.

It's a bit of a pain, but for when I'm just drilling into anything flat, I can't be bothered going into the cold garage, I have a Big Gator Tools SDGMINI Mini V-DrillGuide® I use with a quick clamp. I just use an auto center punch and get the drill point on where it needs to go and it's relatively accurate with a hand drill.

Home depot has this:

Grizzly Industrial

8-3/4 in. Variable-Speed Mini Benchtop Drill Press with 1/4 in. Chuck Capacity

I have it and it does the job - $107

How much do you want to spend?
