micro rc crawlers buyers guide

I'm not sure what we're calling micro, but here's what I've found. The mini giant is the best small crawler, but it takes a fair amount of work to get it there. The mini giant ended up at about $165 dollars after adding a gear reduction, a nex body and tires from a nylint. The nylint 1/18 is by far the simplest most cost effective crawler at about 40 bucks ready to go. Anyone who isn't totally sure they like crawling should go with the nylint.

What???? I don't think a VMG will beat a TLT or a PTI for that matter.

Just look how many threads are TLT,VMG,&PTI.

or you can use the zap toys mini monster like pictured below it has good potential too. it is shaft driven and you can lock the axles. and it is only $30

I just picked up one of the fast lane ones from TRU. Anyone notice that they changed the design quite a bit from the models posted on this forum?

I did the same thing. The new ones are 1:24 scale and are a lot different. The old one's are 1:43 scale and are discontinued

yeah, I was kinda bummed but the new ones are still tiny and pretty fun to drive. A lot more room for electronics too though which is a plus.

I like the scout body.... my grandfather had an International Dealership in colorado many years ago and we always had a scout around.

the new one is cool though. Tons of torque and its actually pretty quick for its size. About 1.5 inches of articulation stock too....disconnect the shocks and you can get about 3 inches....guess I need some longer shocks. Plenty of room for real electronics too so it looks like thats the route I will be going.
