Does anyone on here live in the southern part of Michigan ? I am new to crawling and looking for somewhere to go where others go.Just to fill you guys in on my R/C experience,I started racing r/c oval in sept. 2006,then started offroad racing in January 2006.Last summer built a brushless E-maxx,traded roller sunday for clod axles.I bought a chassis of EBAY last week.Would like to make a 2.2 out of it.Any help you guys have will be appreciated.Yes,I am a NOOB to this.

Welcome aboard! most of us live in the south-eastern Michigan but I know a few are in the south-western part too.

What chassis did you pick up?
What tires you got in mind?

Here's what I would recommend: 12.5" wheelbase, 2.2 moab tires, rpm revolver wheels, air soft bb's, hitec 645 servo or better.

will you be crawling only or alittle bashing too?

55T and 9tooth pinion (crawl) or 65T stock pinion (lil crawl, lil bash)

I got an (supposedly) early Extreme chassis and Clod axles.I plan on setting it up for 2.2 class.I ordered from my LHS 2 65 turn Integy's(hate brushes, lol),the new axial 2.2 beadlock wheels, whatever the equiv. to a hs645mg in JR.Also had him order me the Moabs and new ambush body.I do alot of offroad racing,MARS you have heard of that.I do plan on doing some comp. "thumbsup"

rcracer,I just had the first 3 paragraphes go to admin. That was the first Quote.Did the Quote again,1 paragraph, same thing.
Anyways, the chassis I got is an early EXTREME RACING clod chassis. It's black fiberglass, pry graphite,w/ carbon fiber tubes.Haven't recieved it yet to look at it.I also got a bunch of tubes with the axles I picked up.Hopefully between the 2 I can make a 12.5 w/b truck.Last Friday night went to my LHS and ordered new PRO-LINE Ambush body,2.2 MOABS,2 65x1 INTEGY motors, the AXIAL 2.2 BEADLOCK CLOD wheels,a JR RACING Z650 servo( same as HS645mg.prefer JR)and some misc.I have a NOVAK Super-Duty XL speedo.Want to run my ORION 4800 Lipo's.Don't know if I'll use my NOMADIO,don't want to trip and break it.I have a TQ3 and the switch mod.Let me know how much BB's to add to tires.I want to play around the house with this truck, have 4 factory team T4's and a B4.They are race vehicles.I would like to do a competition every month, pry not enough going on to do that.Could be wrong?

with the moab's and airsoft bb's (no foam), shrek runs them at 3/4 full if i'm not mistaken. Shrek, chime in if I'm wrong. nice thing about beadlocks is you can play with the amount until your happy and never have to glue.

also, not sure what kind of rock you travel but I personally prefer a narrower track width so the axles don't get hung up. try to run a wheel that pulls the tires closer to the center. I run rpm revolver rears, all in preference.

are you going to run stock pinions?

if the lipo pack is small enough you can mount it on the axle to keep the COG down, not that lipo's weight much.

the tq3 and esc you have will be just fine.

Thanks rcracer.Should see chassis tomorrow.I'll start my own thread.Don't want to hog this one.

i think i have about 4.5 ozs. in my moabs thats on a 1 inch rim on a full size rim you can put a little more than 5ozs. hope this helps. air soft bb's are the only way to go they work very good with no worries about water issues.
