Michigan Roll Call

There is a real nice place at the NE corner of I-75 and Mt Morris rd if we could use it. This is where they have been putting all the pieces of concrete from the I-75 work the last few years. This is Don Williamsons property where they say there going to build the sports resort there. Jerry

 As I drive around the city during work all day I am keeping a look out for any possible spots to run on for future use.

It would be nice to have a map that we could refer to and update as spots are found, even potentiol spots to be checked out.
I'm still going to try and get something set up at my house (even though I have a tiny yard)

Are you talking about coalminedcorner behind the propane place ?I can do flint my buddy lives in mt morris on exit 131 is that close to where your talking about? He has a crawler to

Welcme to the site, and how about crawling at meijer november 11 or 12 at 1:00 pm? becuse I want ot play with the redone beaver:twisted:  !!!

Hi Whale Bone, exit 131 is where I mean and was there today and the person I talked to said there would be a insurance issue, so we wouldn't be able to run there.
The 11 or 12th sounds ok here Bam Bam, and are you meaning on 59 next to Meijers?
And whale bone your friend in Mt Morris Is probably within a 1/2 dozen miles from me. I can crawl here but the rock pile I use is The rocks for my waterfalls in my Large Koi pond and about waste high. Will make it a lot bigger for the future. Jerry

Whats up guys. Glad to see more Michigan guys doing this now. Thinking about building up something again over the winter. Still have a couple parts I was holding onto incase I felt the urge again.

Was at Hobbie Town Wednesday and they didn't seem to know anything about anybody into the rockcrawling. Have a e-maxx crawler built and working on a sw2 now. Jerry

The maxx crawler is alright but there isn't much original on it left. Also run the Novak crawler motor and speedcontrol and I think I have just a little too much ground speed with this setup, running a 72 and 9 tooth gear combo. 161/2 inch wheelbase and 41/2 inches off the ground and run 4 wheel steering
I have a set of clod axels also so who knows what's next but will finnish the sw2 first, maby even today. Jerry

new from michigan

hey everyone i am new to the site and i am from Manistique MI in the upper penninsula any one close to me at all?? I dont know ANY one thats into rc crawling around here but me. Trying to get some people interested cause there are alot of cool spots to crawl here when the snows gone ha ha

Ok, I may have found a decent spot to crawl. If this is a repost sorry. Oakland University, in Auburn Hills, Mi. has what looks to be very promising area. I huge retaining wall that separates the two parking levels. Terrain is made up of large boulders12-36-48 inches in round; there are flat sections along with varying grades up to maybe 60 degrees. The only issue would be the students (ridicule), and it is an active lot this time of year. If you’re in the area check it out. If you’re driving east on Walton Blvd the lot is on the South side of the road in between Squirrel and Adams Rds. I’ll try to get a picture.

Now that my 2.2 has moved under power for the first time, but I still have some tuning to do. I’m excited to try it out on some good sized rocks."thumbsup"

looks good, there is a place at 12 Oaks mall that looks just like that but more grade to it and less rocks.
