I'm a noobie and I got a rolling reign rc k2-3l chassis. I built it over a little time i got the whole together other then the drive shafts. I have been searching the forums for a while now and i still can't figure out how to measure them. I'm looking to get the rc4wd Punisher shafts but don't want to send them back to get the right length.....

RC4WD's shafts are measured as a total length. So measure from where the CVD will rest up to, not the end of the pinion shaft/output shaft of the tranny.

I am not knocking the Punnisher shafts, but i think you could spend your money better in other places. Some nice metal ends and a set of stampede shafts will save you $40 (front and back)

The way I measure, figure out how far the yokes will go on to the pinion and tranny out put. Mark the pinion and tranny out put at these places(like the red lines below. Measure a straight line from red line to red line and subtract about 1/4" to 3/8". That'll be your overall measurement of the shaft fully collapsed. Should give you enough travel in the slip joint for suspension movement
