I won't bore you with a play by play of the build. There are plenty of great builds on here from others. Here's the skinny on the goods.........

Holmes Hobby 12T Crawlmaster

Hobbywing Quicrun 1080 ESC

Hitec HS 7950 Servo

SSD 1.9 Steel Beadlocks

Pitbull Berserker 1.9 4.35" Alien Kompound Tires

Futaba 4PLS Radio/Receiver

Proline 1977 Dodge Ramcharger body

Rollbar and Steering Wheel from JawsTec

Driver: You'll Soon Find Out

I haven't painted the body yet. I'm thinking red top with white sides. It will have the top off as I don't like SUV, Bronco/Blazer type bodies.

Thanks for the kind words. It's by far the easiest kit build I've ever done, and I've done many.

Nice Max! You’re off to a good start. Really digging those berserkers. I had the 1.55” variety last year and was a big fan, cool to see the 1.9” version on a build.

Thanks. Hoping to at least get the stock body painted this week for it's maiden voyage on Saturday. The Ramcharger body will take a little more time. I don't want to rush it.

I really like the paint job on the Dodge!
Me too. I think I will go with that color scheme and then spray some matte clear over it to dull it up a bit. I would like to do some minor weathering and rust here and there, but I've never done that before I'm afraid I would screw it up. We'll see.......

I hate masking a body, and I hate painting because I suck at it. For the first time I tried the green Frog Tape. I will only ever use frog tape from here on in. So easy to use compared to masking tape or the blue painter's tape which is absolutely horrible

Hey, great color choice![emoji16]

I hear ya on the body masking! That is why I do simple paint schemes on my bodies! It ranks right up there with installing electronics and wiring! My least favorite![emoji20]

Yeah, I usually just do one color or maybe a stripe (the width of masking tape) acrossed the bottom of the door. Did I mention that I hate painting?

Painting the black on top, does it always look like matte black and not glossy?

Yes. It will always have the matte finish look. And the flat clear on top of the black will protect the paint.

I've always done it this way because it is a lot easier to paint the black and the matte finish is the look that I wanted.

build looks great Max!

Paint on the outside of the shell will always dry in a matte finish. As far as I know Tamiya has a clear flat PS but not a clear gloss. At times it would be handy to have it however.

I have never run the Holmes Crawlmaster line, but at 12T it seems like that 550 could be pretty quick?

In case I didn't it mention it, I use the Tamiya PS-55 Flat Clear on top of the black.

I also used the flat clear on my interior to dull it up too.
