Mamba Max super setup

I posted this on the SERCRC board already, but I thought it might benifit some of you.

I finally got my super comp rig set up for the Battle Creek Showdown in Alabama this weekend and noticed something interesting when I tried it out.

Here's a short clip of what I will be describing:



Vehicle:
Home made Linkless stick with Clod axles

My electronics setup:
-6 cell 3000mah sub-c batteries
-A single Mamba Max ESC with servo extension that has red wire removed
-2 55t lathe motors wired to rear first
-Front Hitec 5995 servo powered from main pack
-Rear Hitec 5995 plugged straight into reciever
-JR XR3 transmitter and reciever


This faux dig (as Highmark described it) occurs at low throttle application.
It still maintains torque, so I am hoping I can use it on the rocks. Now I need to see if it works better in the front or the rear (wire to the front or rear motor first). I am thinking I will like it wired to the front first better, because I like the 'clod stall' effect. I never understood why people don't like clod stall, because that is exactly why the clod works so well in verticle climbs. We shall see.

When I turn my throttle trim down (about 20-30), via the thumb rocker on the side of the wheel, I can control the dig easier. When I just want all four to spin I can turn the trim up all the way (60) and have full control of 4 wheel drive.

With the Mamba Max the throttle trims don't work like they used to with the TR2 (the TR2 also did not have drag brakes). The throttle trigger seems to soften up on the MM when the trim is turned down, rather than make the vehicle creep foward/backward.

The more I turn down the trim, the mushier (is that a word?) the throttle trigger feels and the easier it becomes to control the 'faux dig.'

I will see if it actually does anything beneficial on the rocks at this weekends compitition. I am hoping it will aid in tighter turns.
