well im looking at building a tlt based trail truck and have the now discontinued cj8 body sitting in my crawl space and am wanting to build a tube body/cage off of it and use leaf springs on it. (the cj8's were full leaf spring suspensions) but am wondering how i can make leafsprings. (i dont use ebay, so dont tell me to find bruiser ones) plus i dont think using parts that could be used to rebuild a great truck by someone else.

i know i need to use spring steel (is there a way to make it or what?)

and i have fairly good metal working skills.
