just thought id share my newest project, its going to be a Mad Max style Camaro.
so far its an SCX10 chassis with HSP diffs (till i get scx10 diffs) alloy links ( except front lowers i ran out of alloy ones) 27t axial motor and a 56/14 gear set.

the body is a Vaterra 68 RS camaro, i plan on doing an exocage.

ive trimed the guards up, but i still cant decide if i should go 1.5, 1.7 or 1.9 tyres for it

tonite I knocked up some "sliders" if you could call them that. Basicly the are going to be the base for all my lower bar work. Im still trying to decide if I should hinge the body or not. I also played around with trying to get a ride height I liked. I decided to go with a ride height useing 80mm shocks as this give the best drive shaft angle and looks like a lifted Camaro with out going monster truck.
Anyways on with the pics

Barwork brazed to the rails

Ive settled on 90mm shocks as it will give me the best possible driveline angle on the rear ( really short WB ) whilst still giving some rebound.

Trying to sort out links for the front too

Picked up some new ( to me ) parts today.
Got a GCM front motor plate ( came with a hpi saturn 35t and transmission) and a disruptor transfer. I think its a 2.18:1 ratio. Is there away to tell? And can the gearing be changed?

Also got a set of standard SCX10 shocks.

The disruptor lived up to its name and was a pain to install. I had to drill holes in the SCX10 skidplate to mount it. Ended up being a really great fit though.
The front motor plate caused some dramas of its own too.
With the spur gear grinding the top of the servo at level, there was no way it was going to allow any up travel.
So I knocked up a CMS to rectify this. I forgot to snap a pic if this. Works a treat. Could do with a panhard bar though.

Will get some pics outside tomorrow (weather permitting)

Starting the bullbar tomorrow!!!

The wheel base is bang on 11" atm. I would like to bring it back at the front by about 5mm. Just to be lined up with the wheel arches properly.

Heres todays efforts
I paint my bodies on the outside. Probably weird but if it gets bush pinstripes atleast it will look authentic.

Ran out if silver PS so had to go get more.

Freshly painted. It's a PS silver base then standard grey primer the TS blue.

I plan to rub the blue back to primer in spots and picked up some tamiya weathering powder to rust it up in spots.

This was my inspiration.
If I could get my hands on a RS4 or Exo front id make it a prerunner

well today i got the insane idea to put my drift cars electrics in to this, they consisted of a 4800kv hpi Vextor brushless with a Vapor pro esc and a Specktrum reciever. needless to say its kinda spastic for an scx10, i may have inadvertantly built an off road drag car.

had to put short course wheels and tyres on the rear so it could get traction.

then it did this
