Lukekang's Twin Hammer!

That's some real good info there. Thanks.
I've been running ther derwood shock upright. It also bends with high speed crashes. I think most guys are not running at high speeds so they have not noticed or said anything about it. I've been wanting to go go back to stock front shocks for my high speed th. But maybe I'll take a look at the mg200. Thanks for the quick link.

Your welcome Toyotatrucks83. I'm not a 100% sure he is still making these or not. Defiantly worth shooting him a PM. I bought mine back in November 2013. He's a nice guy to deal with! A little pricey, totally worth it IMO! :)

A little update on my twin hammer. I have been wanting to try a set a Pitbull Mad Beast. I swapped out my locked up rc 1.9 wheels and installed those wheels on my scx10 honcho project and bought some mad beast with CI foams and, Oh yeah some new vp methods with 850 hubs.

With the .850 vp hubs it gave nice wide stance, right at 11" wide.

I installed a 2spd tranny in my honcho, so I swapped out my roc412 3100kv motor to my honcho, and installed a pro4 4000kv into my TH. Holy crap:shock: this thing fly on 2s, and pleasantly surprised how smooth it was in 1st gear.

Finally had some time this weekend to get out to my favorite rock crawling and basher spot, it's an hour from my place, so I don't get there to often. The twin hammer preformed very well, was almost able to run every line on the rocks that my honcho could. The new wide stance really helped the TH perform better at higher speeds and in the turns. The mad beast grip like crazy on the rocks, but with the CI foams they stay nice and solid at high speeds, better ground clearance too. I ran 4 - 4200mah shorty packs back to back for the better part of 2 hours, the new motor geared at 27/78, never even broke a sweat, just at 100 degrees was the hottest reading I had. Very happy with this little TH, I managed to break both my other rc trucks on the first battery pack! But the TH saved the weekend. Here are a couple of pics.

Very nice build, it was cool watching it progress.

How are you liking those G-made shocks? They certainly look killer, but I care more about how easy the shafts are to scratch, and oil retaining abilities.

Any suggestions on shock oil, pistons, or springs to go with those G-mades?

Hello,
Thanks for the compliments!! As far as the gmade shocks go, they have proven to be the best money spent on my twin hammer. I was hesitant to purchase them, just because I wasn't sure of gmades quality. They have been on my rig for over a year now and yes they took some time to tune in, but once you dial them in for your driven habits they are smooth as butter.

I have the XA 85mm on the front, using XD 103mm piggyback in the rear. I'm using the 3 hole piston in both front and back, 45wt oil front and back as well. I'm still using the stock spring, but in IMO the front are little to soft, and the rears are to stiff. I have tons of preload in the front, and hardly any in the rear. But I found that sweet spot with the stock springs. They have been super reliable, all original parts still installed in them, except the bladder caps and still holding oil. Literally all I have done with these is change the oil on occasion. My twin hammer see a lot of air time, and haven't been a shaft yet. Hope this helps thanks!
Luke

Also....If any one have experimented with other springs, I would like to know what your using!!"thumbsup"

Right on! That's good to know! BTW your front drive shafts are holding up well. They got rid of this wheel wobble issue I was having at full steering lock. Thanks for the info on the springs!
