Hey all, let me preface this by saying i searched this, & wasn't satisfied with the answers. I've got a tamiya hilux that i've modified to make more performance oriented out on the trail. I've got my silky scx's, with their triangulated geometry, vp this & rc4wd that. But always wanted to dig into a leaf rig. So, traded an axial roller for a tamiya one. Havin a blast! The axials are quiet, & sure-footed. The tamiya is loud, & bounces over stuff, as much as traverses it. Chino'd the leaves, dropped in an axial tranny mated to a disruptor t-case. And made a set of shooter shackles to get some wacky action out on the rocks. But it's time for change. Here's where i need your brains! I'm still on the stock frame. weighs about 48lbs. Stock hilux axles too. No locked out nothin, all bone stock plastic. Tough plastic! I wish all rc plastic was this strong! 2 things: 1st, which stock tamiya, or aftermarket chassis would you say is best suited for leaf duty? 2nd, what axles? Obviously keeping the leaves, front & back. Checking out the rc4wd offerings, yotas, k44's & such. What diffs would you say are best for my app? I don't flog this rig, but don't spare it much either. She has a sidewinder hh 35t combo for power. Gimme wutcha got! Truly appreciate any insights.

I would wait for the yota 2 axlles with 8 degree knuckles and pads to mount leaf springs too :) if your running a hilux and want to go scale wise then run the yota 2's
