VoltSCX
Pebble Pounder
I finally decided to make a thread for this old truck. I bought it new in the box a couple years ago on the good ol' Facebook Marketplace, was my first 'used' RC. It really was brand new, had only been taken out of the box for the listing photos. I was told that it was a giveaway truck for Rancho, although I can't seem to find anything on that. I have seen one other of these trucks up for sale, and it was actually shortly after I bought mine. I'm not proud of how I ended up treating this truck, but if I'm honest I was young and dumb when I bought it and also had no idea of the value of it at the time. I used it as a loaner truck to let my parents and friends drive on trail runs before I bought my SCX2 and my TRX4 was broken. I've done a few upgrades since I got it in an attempt to fix it up, although I don't really drive it much at all anymore.
All of the electronics are still original. I've replaced both bumper mounts with aluminum Integy ones, as well as an aluminum Integy gearbox housing. The shocks are some Gmade RSDs that I got as part of a trade for a Tamiya TT-02. It's also got an RC4WD light bar that I won at Axialfest a couple years ago.
I've also replaced the axles with some aluminum Integy ones, as well as the suspension links. The wheels and tires are some Capra Raceline take-offs that came on my SCX2 and a set of 1.9 Proline Trepadors that I picked up last year. I chose the Treps because I wanted them to match the spare and the stock ones generally suck.
I don't do much with this truck anymore besides taking it to Axialfest when I go. I entered it in the concours last year which was fun, and that might be what I mostly use it for, at least for now.
I doubt it'll ever win or anything, as the left mirror was ripped out of the body by a friend flipping it (I took the right one out in fear of that happening again) and the windshield bolt holes are broken, although was like that when I bought it. The body isn't horribly scuffed otherwise though, and it'll clean up nice if I go through and give it a good detail. We'll see though, might try something fun with this thing some day.
