Hey guys,
I'm pretty keen to try out an Xtraspeed Defender 110 body on my SXCX 10 II but the body is made for 330mm wheelbase. Has anyone got any idea how long the rear links would need to be to achieve this wb? Cheers :)

Cheers
Simon

I picked up a D90 hard body and had the same question. It has been answered somewhere with the link lengths listed. I cannot remember where I found it. I will look again when I get a chance and post the link if I can find it again.

I just kind of looked for the info to get a feel for how it might work and then put the project on the back burner for a while. This build will be a long term objective for me.

330mm is an extra 17mm on the standard 313mm wheelbase.

The stock rear lowers are 138.5mm eye to eye (101.5mm for the link + 37mm for the rod ends), adding 17mm would make them 155.5mm.

The stock uppers are approximately 130mm (93mm for the link + 37mm for the rod ends) so that would make them 147mm for the longer wheelbase. I say approximately on the uppers because the stock angled rod ends aren't exactly the same length as the straight ends.

I did think about this but thought that the links being angled and not running parallel with the chassis that calculation may not work?

How's your trigonometry?

If you have a 155.5mm long link and it drops 20mm from parallel (eyeballed off my Honcho), the resulting length parallel to the ground is about 154.25mm.

Unless you are running extreme amounts of lift, the angle of the links doesn't affect the wheelbase much.

My trigonometry is very poor lol. thanks guys :)
