Lexan paint to shoe goo?

I have cut a body in half and plan to stick it back together. I was goin to use spare lexan sheet and shoe goo on the inside for biding the two halves together. I will paint this body on the out side. Will shoe goo work as the filler between the two halves? With the paint stick? I think with the extra lexan and glue on the inside of this body it will firm it up a bit and cut down on the natural flex of the lexan.

also, is there any kind of filler that will stick to lexan? for filling seams and such

It would be nice nice for some input. I did tons of searching before I started this thread and only found info on people dogging in lexan bodies. No real help. Some where it was mentioned plastic bondo works but is hard to work with and doesn't sand well. I was assuming this thread was getting passed up because people are tired of answering the same question over and over. Maybe nobody here knows.

yes shoo goo sticks to lexan, yes it can be painted but it looks like crap if painted from the inside ( cuz you can see the shoo goo)
great filler for gaps and cracks, put it on, wet your finger and then use your finger to spread it, wet it so the shoo won't stick to your finger.

Shoe goo is better on bare, prepared lexan. It'll rip up painted lexan eventually.

yup and if applied to a already painted body, when the ShooGoo cures it will pull the paint and therefor wrinkle any areas that it's been used on.

For my application I plan to shoe goo on a bare prepped lexan body and then paint from the outside. Thanks for the tips and info.

I have used Shoe Goo(E-6000) on lexan painted and un-painted. If you are going to paint the outside of the body it works very well, I have also used it on a pre- painted body with good luck. I also use "dry wall' mesh tape instead of lexan strips, kind of acts like fiberglass cloth to spread out the holding power of the joint or repair. Sorry cant post any photos at this time, I have to repay my green star fee

I have used lexan and Shoe Goo and it does NOT work. Wont set up correctly and just pops off too easy. Best way is with fiberglass cloth. Used on RC planes. works very good and durable too.

My experience has been that using dry wall tape on the lexan along with the shoe goo is way way better than just shoe goo. I painted the outside of the body last time I did this but also painted the inside too with a copper like color to get that rusty weathered look once the body becomes scratched up.

Word of warning - I painted the inside of the body over the shoe goo without letting the shoe goo fully cure first. It took a month for it that body to stop stinking like shoe goo and could not leave it inside during that time :x
