So here's is a little background Before I get started on this thread . I returned to Rc about 3 and half years ago with a used axial scx10 kit and have built 15 different rigs since then . When the twin hammers came out i was skeptical about its size and the ifs on the rocks And took an attitude of :flipoff: vaterra . I started getting into ultra4 videos on you tube and built a 2.2 treat fabrications top shelf wraith and an on going peter basler's 1.9 ultra 4 axial based . The ultra4 rigs I really enjoyed watching though We're all ifs rigs shannon campbell , the penhall rig and Tom wayes . So I wanted to add yet another ultra4 build with ifs in the 1.9 tire size. So I decided to pick up a twin hammers kit and start on a shannon campbell ultra 4 rig . I was surprised with the quality of this kit When I was putting the chassis together . I am going to stretch the rear wheel base to 12.5 inches for this build . So here is a few pics to get started with here is the rig I will be basing the build off of

Nice start and the proportions looks spot on.

Thanks Szczerba . I didn't get anything done on the TH today spent time with the family . I will probably Finish the upper cage tomorrow. I think this thing will rip When it's done.

Had an hr to work on some tube work built the rear cross section looks great love building on a pin table keeps everything within a mm or so

Still working on it tonight hoping to get the upper chassis complete and start on the lower mounts and tube work . Thanks for looking and feel free To comment below

Was able to get the bottom tube work started And mounted to some threaded tabs. Put the middle bars on and set the upper cage onto the chassis .starting to take shape

Ok so built the rear lower link mounting points and hooked up the rear axle . A few things I am noticing are that the upper cage is to tall and I don't like the front pillars they are to steep now that it is all mounted to the chassis.the section that bolts to the chassis is also to tall so here is some pics of where it's at right now but I will have some updated chassis pics later tonight

The rear section looks bad as lol

So started rebuilding the top cage .what I did was built a cage under the upper cage and cut the top cage off :) was fairly simple fix

Ok this is a before pic side view of cage

And now after the changes . Re made the front of the cage above the mid bar moved the upright pillars back and raked the front we bit more

I feel a whole lot better about the re worked cage it fits a lot better now even though the roof line only dropped 3/16 of an inch . Thanks for looking at my build "thumbsup"

So put some more work into this little gem today .finished the front bumper ,front shock mounts and the lower tube work in the nose section Here are some pics Of what was done

Next to finish is some 16 gauge flat stock and make two tabs from the lower tubes to the front different where the cantilever posts went for some extra strength up front. After that I have to make up some new rear axle mounts for the rc4wd diff so I can get a sway bar mount on the axle and lower the control arm point as well. Thanks for watching the build

Ok finally had some time to Finish Up a few items this rig still needed . Let's start off with the new axle Mounts for the rear simple and very strong 16 gauge steel sides and a 1/8 inch solid stock for a base . Gave me a lower link point on the axle and a sway bar mount over the top of the axle .

Since the axle mounts were done I was able to start working on the rear upper shock mounts .very first problem I came across was the king shocks Do not work very well with the vanquish twin hammers arms the bottom rod end is to short and when the shock is in a normal position it pops the bottom spring retainer off . So what I did was I had some wraith shocks and I took the rods out and put them in the king 110 And put the small scx10 shock retainer and long rod end to Work At any angle I want now . Here is a pic

So since the shocks were sorted out I started on working On the upper rear shock mounts. This is the first upper mount . I might raise the upper a 1/4 inch but we will see . Here is how it will roughly sit at for ride height . Not set in stone yet.

I was thinking I might Even run a spare tire really like how it looks up there

So after some debate I decided to change the rear 110 kings out for some 100 mm kings with the wraith shock shafts and they feel so much better. I will get some pics up tomorrow. Sat down and did a bunch of final welds and the weld clean up . I think I'm going to try to weld on some 3 mm nuts for the body panels but it's hard to do that with a mig welder and there would have to be 32 of the little bastards. Maybe by the end I will be a pro at it."thumbsup":|:|

Looking great! Can't wait to see the finished product. Subscribed "thumbsup"
