Hello, forgive me if this is the incorrect place to post this question as I am new to the RC world and the forum.
Regarding the Losi Lasernut, I have heard that it has distinct issues when run hard mainly in the rear bearing pinion gear area and the axle shafts, along with tires falling off. I did a brief search but was unable to find information regarding a new upgraded Losi Lasernut.
According to one YouTube channel I watch, there is a rumor that the Losi Lasernut was upgraded. On the Losi website, Losi: Lasernut U4 Black, SMART ESC: 1/10 4WD RTR: Losi (LOS03028T2) the description states Losi Lasernut U4 2.2. Is this indeed the upgraded version of the original unit that was released? If so what changes were made?
If they fixed the major issues, I am going to have to add to my garage.
:ror:

This might be better in the Non Crawler RC section.

At first I though it was a new SKU but its not.

I've been temped by the Lasernut but I also saw that it is a bit of a lemon in some regards, hopefully a revision does come out to remedy its shortcomings at some point.

Oh and the 2.2 in the title is just referring to the wheel size (2.2")

Whoops, missed the fact that the Lasernut is not a crawler and I was in the wrong section, sorry.
I do agree, it looks like a fun car and appears to handle well out of the box but the reliability is very poor from what I have seen.

I like mine. It does need upgrades ( I've listed those in the article ), but overall I'm quite pleased. The new version has been upgraded, but I'm not sure what they have done. Mine has seen a lot of track time, and it's still running strong. The factory motor is about dead though.

FarmJohn42 of San Ardo.... the same FarmerJohn42 of San Ardo from Thumpertalk that used to go on weekday dirtbike rides at Pozo with me nearly a decade ago? Small world, or strange coincidence?

A friend of mine got one a couple weeks ago and it's still on Short Course wheels (2.2" outer bead, 3" inner bead), not 2.2"s. I haven't been around any other/older ones to know any differences, but I can ask him if you have any specific questions. Honestly, ALL rc's have issues, but as SteveB1 has documented, they can be addressed. Go for it!
