Nice. That looks like it turned out pretty smooth.
Paint will be filly dry by the time I get home tomorrow and I can put this body back together!!!
B- I know this filament, it's nuke proof. Same type/brand just orange of the parts on my knightrunner which I have beat to hell for months without fail except things warping and such in the heat (black parts). This stuff is more like normal plastic, takes alot to break it, can bend and twist, drop, hit etc and as long as it was printed in the right settings one thing it won't do is snap and shatter.
Just hope the warping issue doesn't occur in the summer with the bright color. We shall see but have a long time before worrying about that again.

THE KNIGHTKEEPER IS BACK BABY!!!!
A bit lighter weight too. Narrowed the body and made it shorter (height wise) in CAD before printing. Bring the COG down a fair bit and overall weight down a little.

Love this version more than the previous. Orange looks great!
You're not the only one that has said that now. Several of the guys I roll with pointed out how much better this one looks.
That said, pics from today. With the size of the event a lot of random people and guys that hadn't seen my IFS builds yet. Made a few guys take a step back when this thing was clearing the lines it was. Perks of driving mainly a knightrunner, ifs becomes what you know.
Making the body slightly narrower and a fair bit shorter paid dividends, made a huge difference is side hill and overall stability.
Really can't wait to get this rig back out again, this thing is a blast.

I feel a little called out now for not having my Tacoma Knight Runner finished (JK). I don't expect to be able to impress anybody with the lines I can(n't) take with mine though. Mine's just a "road" truck.

I got a couple things to button up on rigs and on to the scale to my 1:1 build. Body you sent has been sitting on my shelf staring at me. Same as yours, mainly be a "road" truck. Probably take it on some real light trail use but for the most part it'll be towing this one at events.

So after having this one out a bit:
As some may have saw, having issues with the Spektrum version 2300kv 2 n 1. Doesn't play well with cold packs from what I gather. So likely going in the knightrunner since I run it on LiHV packs that are twice the size. Should be OK there.
Picked up a HW 2300kv pro today. Gotta play with settings a little cause I have it to where it rolls too much when I let off the throttle (better than a hard stop though)
For actual competition level class one, be fun but not competitive. Too heavy to make up for the IFS. So a new build coming soon there. Probably throw this thing into class 1 stuff just for the challenge occasionally though. She does do shockingly well, need to try some of the lines I clear with this using the knightrunner.
That said, this thing is such a freaking blast lol. So along with the motor change, put my 4.5" rock beasts on. Needed more tire due to her weight but nothing too crazy.
Now just to get the lights sorted.

I was going to buy the army green dx5 cause it'd match my knightrunner and 1:1 truck. Then saw the orange. Orange won hands down lol.
Still gotta get my lights wired up, I've been slacking, whole 3d printing hobby (and associated gifts) have had me busy with them and printing gifts. Getting back after finishing up my rigs now.

So this rig moved to trail rig status. Probably see how she does with the changes on c1 tires though.
Changed from skid design to tuck the bumper up against the grill. Of course some dremel work since ethe light pod mounts get in the way. Better approach angle which helps substantially
Up to 4.5" Rockbeasts. For some reason I just really like these in this size. With the rockbeast specced foams from CI they are awesome.
Chopped the flares off (looked like crap anyway)
Added full batch of lights instead of just the ones on the bumper.
Thing was ridiculous today. Other than the downside of ifs raise costing me clearance at center skid so over steep ledges meant punch it, thing was climbing like a mountin goat. Especially when tires weren't wet and muddy.
Did way better than expected.
One pic a sapling saved her from a much longer tumble, as you can see it wedged between rear tire and bed wheel well.
Also found an unexpected perk of my set up with the fusion pro, couple spots where it was a small gap that was just big enough to eat the front end or ledge would be just enough to stuff the bumper at the bottom and endo or get stuck. Enough punch and speed to launch and land clean. Not enough to hit a jump but enough to push the front end forward till the back tires were in the air too instead of a dead nose dive.
Took a few decent tumbles and body barely got a scratch. So results from the Hilux body were repeated meaning the filament is a go for hard body printing , and this was below 40°F (sub freezing in in the shade, we were all playing on the ice).
