Bought my first kit ever, an SCX10.3. Putting it together went without much problems, except burning the 2-speed servo right away, so it's stuck on low for now.

Electronics: Tekin 5-slot, 16T motor, HW1080 ESC, 35 kg DSSERVO, Castle BEC at 7.4V. Running at 3S.

Decided to go a bit wild with the body, designed some custom masks and had them cut at a local shop, the masking job took about 3 hours. The painting including the drying time for each color took almost a whole day. I'm working on the interior now, and some of the body details like window seals and stuff like that.

Congrats on getting your first ever kit!"thumbsup" You picked a great kit to start with!

Cool paint scheme! Looking forward to seeing more!

If you can figure out how to turn the driver into ODB there’d be no better tribute... or bigger effort put into ANY driver, ever lol!

Oh I should have done that! I made the driver a mini me :D

Thanks all for the kind words!

Hey folks, so I have a pretty noticeable clicking noise in the transmission, which I know a lot of other people have too, and I checked and regreased everything. However my clicking noise is way worse going forward and almost unnoticeable in reverse.

Any thoughts what could be wrong?

Did you check on those pins? So they are oriented the correct way?
If one reads up on this issue that seems to be the problem... Misalignment more or less. Or poor building quality...

I did, I rebuilt the transmission and it still clicks. Annoying but I'll run it until it breaks and then see what can be done.

Just saw this over on SBG. You'll probably have to mount a TF2 body and make some little scale beer cans to get any love from that crowd haha.

haha I noticed that... I would have thought they were more receptive.

Maybe a scale bong? :ror:

Don’t get me wrong there’s some massive talent on display over there but they do love them some RC4WD. Don’t see a lot of crawling/action shots, a lot of builds and styrene and sanding...I lurk for ideas but tbh the scale detail thing is a rabbit hole to me, don’t want to go down it except maybe a paint job.

Fine work. Fun seeing a WTC tribute vehicle.

Empty “fohtys” would be better.

What’s SBG?
