KCRC - Kansas City Remote Crawlers -

Dang this is the hardest decision... Im stuck between getting a brand new Futaba 4PL or a Spektrum DX3R with 3 recievers, wantasummit dig and a case. I can get both for the same price...

I like how easy the Futaba is to setup and doesnt require special units to run in a MOA, but i can benefit from the 3 recievers with the spektrum... Stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment. Hopefully some one can dislodge me...

I'm bias because I worked on the Futaba stuff but the built in programming is more precise, no POT's on another external unit in your truck, RX's are cheaper, the functions inside the radio give you lots of options (program mixes, multiple position programable on 3rd and 4th channels) screen is backlit, the extra channel is also nice to have. There is a big difference in the radios. For crawling there are no radios that have been so popular.

But like I said, I'm biased.

I knew you would be... I can pick up a 4PL with a R2104GF Rx brand new for $204.50 shipped on ebay

Spektrum lost all my love for them after my Savage FLUX went crazy and slammed in to a storm drain almost destroying my Mamba Monster ESC and Motor:evil:, luckily its an indestructable beast (minus the tranny gears:roll:). My $60 Venom 2.4 works better than my Spektrum DX3.0

Futaba T3PM vs Axial AX2

I'm still using the old fm radio system, but I picked up a 2.4 from Josh. Should I stick with the fm or try out the 2.4?

The only thing that really worries me is that the futaba has a ton of settings you can modify, most important, servo end points. The 2.4 has non of that. Is there a risk of ruining a servo by not having end points set?

I do get some glitchs with the fm I was hoping to clear up with the 2.4, and I got a bec that I read causes some glitches with the fm setup too, so the 2.4 has its benefits, just don't want to possibly ruin a servo.

center your servo horn before hand and turn the dual rates down. Slowly increase untill one side or the other gets full throw without binding.

The axial ax2 doesn't have any adjustments other then steering and throttle trim. Just wondering if I should stick with my FM radio that has end-point adjustments, or switch to the 2.4ghz radio that has no adjustments.

I was using the axial radio w/2.4 and dual rates when i change to sedonas, they were a lot bigger and rubbed on everything.I tried to correct w/the dual rates but lost what little steering throw i had.So i got an other rcvr for my 3pl that i use for short course,i think what some of the problem was that my horn would not center so i had better throw one way than the other, dual rates affect both ways so when i got from rubbing on one side all my sterrring was gone.

Ill sell you my Venom VR3T 3ch radio for really cheap... It has tons of setting that you can chang and it does mixing. I like it more than my Spektrum, but im getting a Futaba 4PL so i wont be needing it anymore. You can use the third channel for mechanical digs which is nice.

Does anyone have a cheap bodiless chassis or bodied chassis for an AX10? Im needing a new chassis to run my sportsman rig. Dont feel like running the Proline Tuber anymore...
