Well, I finally got my 6x6. My story was the same as most others. Trying to get all the parts together, kits to expensive, unable to build a styrene body, yada yada yada....

I got mine through GearBest.com and it took a total of about 13 days to get here from China. I have also ordered up a bunch of upgrades as well like metal chassis rails. I linked all the parts I've been getting on my website at FourDogsRC.com.

I'll upload some videos into the video section. I did an unboxing video as well as an out-of-the-box running video.

The battery *meh* (doesn't last long)

The remote Control. Has a switch to control the 2 speed servo as well. This will be an upgrade coming soon.

Top off. I like how the trans/motor is set up. In its first run, I was getting no torque twist.

Also pretty nice having a frame mounted steering servo out of the box.

Rear axle lock-outs (with bushings)

Axle gearbox with stock grease. (Actually has more grease than some of my higher end rigs from factory)

Another downside, the shafts are 4mm as opposed to the normal 5mm

Axial body sitting on frame to see how the WB lines up.

Stock 2.2 Wheel/Tire. Not very soft and not much rubber. It's like having 21" wheels on the truck.

These are stock Twin Hammer wheels/tires. I like the look and fit much better.

Needed bearings for Axles and Knuckles

Ok, after measuring everything out, it looks like you'll need:
- Six 5x9x3mm bearings
- Two 4x7x2.5mm bearings
per axle

On the front knuckles:
- Two 5x9x3mm
- Two 8x12x3.5mm

Should be an end total of 28 bearings to get it going.

Got her painted up today. Just need to learn led wiring now....

Nice, I like the orange, here is my truck, I bought fully upgraded and find it actually pretty good.

By fully upgraded I mean came with all the options China offered. So I have the built in gear shift. I too plan for a lot of upgrades and will fallow to see how yours turns out.

If anyone finds metal driveshafts that'll work for truck, please post up a link! They need to have a 4mm inner diameter instead of the normal 5mm inner diameter.

Well, I'm not sure if this is right, but based on the limited info there is on wiring led lights (for someone who has never done it before) here is my attempt.

The last photo here is me holding a 3.3v button cell on the wires. I hope when I plug it into the rx, they all don't burn out. That'll be many hours wasted......

Like to see the orange paintjob, nicely done. Did you somehow clear the windows, made it transparant again?

I used 600 and then 800 grit sandpaper. Once that was done, I used some headlight restore and it got about as clear as I think they are going to get.

Got mine today. Still waiting for the upgraded chassis rails (outrageous flex in the chassis), but surprised for what you get for the price, even with the extra parts and shipping it was under $200.

I like the 1.9s better than the 2.2s. I'll probably switch those out, and add paint and lights also. I've got a light module so that won't be too difficult. Probably just need to extend some wires.

I did notice the 2spd tranny with the servo mount, but never saw an option on GearBest or Banggood for hooking a servo to it.

Body does not fit on the Beast II chassis. The rear wheels are too close together on the Beast.

Leads on the battery are crap. They pulled out the second time I tried to connect. Switching the ESC to Deans and using a different battery.

Added a light kit too.

I found it for $96 bucks and pulled the trigger also, ordered the metal chassis to firm it up. Looking forward to receiving it. What LED kit are you running?

Yup. It was under $100 for the truck, $45 for shipping and about $40 in chassis rails and odds&ends that they had available.

I used this one - Light Kit - I thin the price has jumped since I bought it or there are other brand names, but essentially the same 12 LED kit for under $15 that has a controller for flashing sequences.

I'll start my thread soon so I don't highjack FD's here.

Parts for these can be ordered at gearbest or banggood. Also seen a few on fleabay. The stock esc and radio system is a 2 in 1 so keep that in mind if you replace either one
