Imthatguy's Top 5 Leaf Spring Mods

undo bolts that hold the leafs onto the diff (you may need longer bolts)
small oring (number 6 i think they are) on the diff side then re-install the springs but before you put the nylock nuts on put another oring on-top of the spring now snug the nuts back up not too tight just firm flex will be more than double in most cases

Good tips to know. I plan on doing everything except Chino mod. As I rebuild this leaf sprung beast. And getting the G2's front shock towers

Can I ask if the suspension tips and mods for a TF2, will also work for a GCN 4 Ten chassis that uses RC4WD leaf springs and RC4WD Toyota axles

Thank you for input, now the problem is none of my RC4WD 1.9'' Pro 10's wheels and my 1.9'' RC4WD 6 lug Wagon Wheels, the tires due not clear the linkage that connects both steering knuckles, I'm guessing I will have to buy some new aluminum 1.9'' SLW wheels, I'm thinking I will need the 350 mm or the 475 mm hubs, I seen RC4WD makes +7 mm wheel spacers for RC4WD wheels but the Proline TSL Super Swampers with C.I. foams will not mount on the steel RC4WD steel wheels, So I will have to check out wheels, the RC4WD steel wheels work fine on my original SCX10 and my 1.9'' Wraith, it must be the width of the Toyota axles compared to the width of the original SCX10 axles

Good thing about the leaf spring, I made all the modifications in my Blazer Special Edition and I needed it, thank you partner for sharing.

Not entirely sure how well you can see in the photos but instead of o rings for the "o ring mod" I have modified some small hinges to fit between the axle housing and the underside of the leaf springs, made the countersunk areas larger with the trusty dremel so the heads sit down.
As the wheel drops and the angle of the axle changes the hinge opens up to allow the spring to stay flatter.
This gives me full shock extension with 100mm Bilstein rears and the original 90mm rears in the front using Gelande 2 front shock hoops set behind the front axle.
Also have the Terraflex shackles in the rear mounted upside down and backwards, for some reason they work best for my rig this way, they don't collapse onto the spring under compression but tuck up towards the chassis out of the way.

What size/length shocks do you have? The stock 80, 90 or 100 mm? I am trying to see if I will need new suits once I have completed all my mods. I will be using the same car of spray paint for comparison :)
