hobby shops near grand rapids mi

The Riders' in both GR and AA aren't exactly stocked as a large RC hobby shop. They might have a few spare parts, etc, but I was at the one in AA last weekend, and they don't have any crawler parts at all. A good overall variety of stuff, but more of your trains, rockets, models, WarHammer, etc.

The only good RC store that I have found in Michigan is Larry's in Sterling Heights. Awesome selection of just about everything you can think of, indoor short course (carpet, but large enough to be alright), indoor rock course. It's an hour drive for me to get there, but its worth it.

thx for the info guys..... in grand rapids at my hotel right now, went to larrys yesterday and bought another rtr mrc for 89bux!!! ya im stoked on that, she is gonna be my all show no go rig! went to riders in gr today, and they were kind ehhh.... so then i went to twisted and it was top notch, i will go back anytime im here.

i understand its a long drive for you but twisted is a hell of a lot better shop than hobby world i mean if you like train sets and bausal wood hobby world is the shit but if you want quick orders and low prices go see larry at twisted "thumbsup"

and if you ever need work done like soldering and stuff hes the guy to do it and at less thn half the price of any other shops plus he used to build circuit boards for a living so who better to solder some shit up

Twisted has beat the shit out of prices for me. His prices are like CKRC, cheap as hell. The cool thing is you dont need to pay shipping. The guy at hoddyworld was a big C*ck holster to me last time I was there. No biggy I dont go to hobby shops much. I order on line and use the FS section."thumbsup"

larry was mechanic for walmart i get 15 % discount and they match a main prices at the world & 10 % at riders

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I think this should be in the Michigan section now that its a debate. I dont care really, I order online and sometimes get wire or rodends from twisted. Well, I got a 30dollar body for 20bucks. Larry dosent have any trains, models, crawlers, boats, planes, rockets, blah, blah, blah, but he is a nice guy. One place that sucked major ass was Rivertown. They are out of buisness now, its okay the owner was a twitchy little Fu(k. I'm just saying, if the LHS that is close to you works, thats great. As long as you get your parts and so on. One thing to think about is that crawlers started out as a build from scratch thing. Getting parts fron a TLT, stampede, and so on was the norm back in the day. Saying that someone dosent know anything about crawling is fine. Larry dosent know shit about crawling, he thinks its too slow. Thats fine, he has a right to his own opinion. Just like our preference on LHS. Lets just agree on that and forget about it, Hell we can debate it when we all G2G."thumbsup"
