Hello,
I have a fully modified axial wraith. It is brushless and extremely fast but I have suggestions for people who are new to the wraith.
Here are my upgrades in and on the wraith:
- Tekin RS brushless esc
- Tekin gen2 10.5t redline brushless sensored motor
- Vanquish Drag link/ tie rod
- Vanquish 4-link all-around
- Pro-line 2.2 super-swampers
- axial 2.2 beadlocks
- Hitec HS-7980TH (monster torque servo) 611 oz. titanium gears
- Castle Creations 10 amp BEC (battery eliminator circuit)
- Vanquish Diff covers (Front, rear)
- Vanquish steering knuckle's, c-hubs, lockouts or a.k.a. upgrade kit # 1
- Roberston Racing solid steel outdrive gear in transmission
- Robertson Racing steel gear transmission
- 16 tooth pinion/stock spur gear 80t
- Venom 3s 5000 mah 50c 11.1 battery (crazy power!)
- Custom drive-shafts with a titanium rod inside the stock plastic.
- Aluminum Golden Horizons 24t servo Horn inter-locking
- Futaba pmx 3-channel radio/receiver
I know what all you are think its overkill and very expensive well yes it is but I have Had my wraith for a full year know and have been adding these upgrades since then. I first had the stock esc in then I put a fx-r crawling system in but I thought it was to slow so I put that system in my scx-10. Then I had a 13.5t motor in it with the rs tekin esc and then I was like really? so I then put the insane 10.5t monster tekin gen2 motor, know it really moves. But just remember that if you want to put this kind of power in a wraith you need full steel gears in your transmission if not well it will eat your plastic transmission to the ground. also put steel drive-shafts in it or put a titanium rod in the stock plastic drive-shafts and use "shoo-glue" in it is on you-tube if you need help with it. I put the super-swampers on it from pro-line because I thought the stock ripsaws are not good for bashing. then with all of the other vanquish upgrades well I will explain the reason you need to do some certain upgrades before buying. Know you will need to buy the vanquish drag link and tie rod because that stock plastic are junk, then you might just want to upgrade to vanquish 4-link rod that's $100 right their but it will make your truck strong like no other. Then if you going to upgrade to a different servo you can get the strongest one on the market which is what I did it has 611 oz. its a monster from hitec, cost $180 dollars but I only did that because my stock one broke and I did not feel like ordering another one that's weak so I got the Hitec Hs-7980TH but before you buy you will need a B.E.C. or you will run into the same problem I had before I found out the problem. But I also found the receiver bad so replaced that with a futaba pmx 3-channel system. But I know my thread is long I just want to help anyone with the wraith before you buy, please feel free to ask because I have been through hell with this wraith so please ask if you need to.:) - axial 4x4 crawler

Remember that the wraith can also be used as a crawler, your decision, I turned mine into a Low center of gravity brasher, sorry for no pictures, do to I don't know how to post pictures on here. But before I went brushless I had a tekin fx-r system with a 35t motor (tekin also). But that is to slow for me at least but good for people who are into crawling, but I put that system in my axial scx-10, so know wasting their. Here is a trick used by a few other people that have the wraith and want a little bit better suspension. Remember I DO NOT TAKE credit on this, it was done by a people on YouTube so here is how it works: (Before starting take all tires off for easy access to it.)
1.Undo you front shocks at the bottom, then remove your linkages (lower-linkages) but on the end leading to the axle.
2. Make sure to have both sides removed first before continuing
3. Unscrew your shock/link holder (on axle) and simply flip them the opposite way they where on there, then screw them back on to the axle.
4. Continue to screw you shocks and linkages back on to the mount. There you go front done know proceed to the back.
5. Do the a same as directed before remove bottom of shocks and linkages (leading towards axle) and unscrew the mounts from the axle.
6. Just simply flip them and screw them back to the axle. (Remember flip opposite way)
7. Bolt your linkages back on to the mount as well as the shock and then just put your tires back on.
If anyone needs help doing these please ask, it really isn't hard but if you find it hard then ask and I will be glad to help, since I did this to my wraith and lowered it about 10 mm or more sorry if i am wrong but this mod should give you a good stance on the road and rocks with a more powerful system bound to turn your truck over every 5 minutes.
Hope this helps to all of you with a axial wraith or planning on getting one, well thanks for watching, and remember to reply if you need to, - axial 4x4 crawler

You running 48p and not 32p with that kind of power? Good choice of servos, I like Hitec servos. Use the 7950 myself.

Yes sir I use 48p gears and not to many problems. I did just yesterday strip a spur and the reason for that is because the mount is not wide enough or where the motor bolts in doesn't get close enough contact with the spur gear, so I called a tech. And he told me to just take a dremal and widen that mount (where motor bolts to) but other than that I don't have any problems except I can't lie, I blew up a bearing on the back axle part number axa1221, then tore the shock right off which it's a shock bushing that tore, it's been extremely abused, which I don't like to abuse it, it got caught in a root or something and didn't even notice it till I saw the bearing in pieces, including the shock bushing. I actually thought about going 32p but never did, thanks for watching my post I sure do appreciate, if you have anymore questions please ask, -axial 4x4 crawler
