No... haven't made plans for this weekend.
gonna be too warm out IMO.
I will be driving to the prospective property
located on Sage Rd. Friday morning.
Looking to see if that will suffice for our next run.
Likely won't plan a run until the end of this month
or more likely into the beginning of next month.
I'm hoping for cooler ambient temps.
I will post up when I have a plan of action.

Tomorrow the son and I are going to go to Simpson Park
and scout that area for a future run.
Was looking thru some random pictures of the park
and saw some really cool looking rock formations.
But I'm not sure how far I gotta walk to get to them.
^ not far... and there's picnic tables and restrooms in the area !
Anyhow... bringing this up because
Plan to have another crawl on the 1st or 2nd Sat. of Oct.
I'll nail that date down in a coupla' days.
I first want to scout Simpson Park and see if it might be worthy.
I believe my son has posted similar comment
to our facebook page.
I was able to check out the property on Sage Rd.
that was offered for our use.
The potential is great...
as there is lots of area we could utilize.
One area , at least 100 yards square, has a sloping bowl formation
And would be perfect for a higher speed track nearer the center
As the drivers can stand above the bowl, on a natural bluff
over looking the whole track area.
The crawler rocks and obstacles would be placed around the high speed track's perimeter.
There would be a by pass established leading off the high speed track
to each technical challenge.
But an outer trail would be established for tho's whom dare not venture
into the high speed arena.
Bad news...
not enough rock in that particular area to be interesting for crawlers
and we would need import those from other outlying areas of the property.
Could be really grand...
but not without some effort and a few dollars spent.
I'd love to make it work...
But not sure I would get the support and volunteerism
that would be necessary to make it grand.
So I'm mulling on that possibility for now.
Paul (property owner's son) has said that he will inquire with a neighbor
to see if they might offer use of their bucket loader (clam)
So that the plenty of outlying rocks can be transplanted into that area.
If that can be worked out...
we just might have reason to make attempt.
and scout that area for a future run.

for the purpose of representing their groups there.

I put together a winch line extension/strap and anchor...
I doubt I'll ever need use 'dem for myself
but just like with my 1:1 winch
there is usually someone around needing an assist !?

^ 100mm Traxxas Ultra XXL big bores
secured to the factory mounting locations.
Utilize Losi 2.75" 1.8 rate coil springs.
3 hole pistons, 25wt Frnt and 20wt Rear
shock body(s) internal 2mm limiter removed.
4 Link Fr/Rr
Front axle clocked using Axial 8* alloy Chubs/knuckles
curb weight: 9-10 lbs.
Used to use the LOSA5147 coil springs
but those particular coils are being discontinued.
So I'm testing out a replacement.
Again a Losi 2.75" 1.8 rate coil spring... TLR5163
so far... they are working purdy well.

Thanks man, I'm going to try this out. I am not happy with the travel in my G-made shocks. What kind/size links are you using? I want to replace my links soon as well.

I'm using the factory upgrade alloy links for the 12.3" WB
I don't recollect the actual lengths of each link rod at the moment.
But it's the same measurement that is in the inst. booklet.
stainless or titanium would be tougher... and slide/grind, smoother/better
But I've little interest in spending that kinda $ on it.
I use Trassas Slash rod ends instead of Revo's
reason being... they near abouts the same length as the Axial originals
but have steel ball inserts instead of plastic.
And they also utilize a 3mm insert thread just like the originals.
The front upper links were extended 3 or 4mm when clocking the axle.
I utilized spacers to do this, rather then make full length link rods.

We'll be rolling this GTG crawl
in similar fashion to a 1:1 trail run.
ie: Trail leader - everyone else - Tail Gunner.
We'll stop the wagon on occasion
so's to offer added free play/time on some challenges.
we'll likely be there nearer 7:00 - 7:30 (ish)
but yer welcome to come prior to 8:00 am
just cause... or to net closer parking "thumbsup"
