Help me decide on my next build

So I have built a few rigs since I started in this addiction. Most have started as rtrs, but I have done some kits and customs. I have built from kit or full custom a tf2 rwb, tf2 lwb , a 2.2 wraith, an ax10 shafty (not as competitive as I would like), an xr 10, and last a berg. So why am I in the newb section you might be asking yourself. Well, I am as lost as a newb when it comes mid size scalers (1.9, 4.5-4.75 scalers). I have too many ideas not enough time. I'm looking for a fun build but I don't want to have to make a bunch of custom parts for it. I also don't want a rig that is going to break every time I run it. I also want it to be capable.



Will all of you help me decide on a mid size scaler?



Here are the options:


trail king


trail king vs410 hybrid (vfd trans (Is it true that the vfd will fit any scx10.2 based chassis?), trailking axles, chassis unknown...)



vs410 pro


capra with ar44s (This would be one were I would be ok with doing some figuring and parts making. Portals would go into a new 2.2 alcista or pneuma shafty)


element enduro with the ifs


c2x (I realize it an rtr but rebuild it with ar44s and od/ud tranfercase)


hpi venture sbk


gs02 with an ar44 rear for underdrive (seems like they have some problems though)


trx4 sport kit (I already have a defender but I think a trx4 might be fun to turn it into a c2 rig or maybe portal delete)



c2 custom (completely piece together a rig, maybe toyzuki or gspeed or brazin scale or crawl space or someone else. If this is the route to go I would prefer that none of the parts come from shapeways because their prices are ridiculous)

I know it's not directly on the list (and I'm not saying it should be) but I just built a 4-10 Ultra and the build quality is very nice!! On the trail its as good as my Capra, and will hit a few lines that other normal scale trucks cannot (but a Capra does). It's slightly heavier than my Enduro but most of the weight is down low due to the axles and the VFD. I don't feel you would be disappointed by any of the options on the list, but I know I want to sell my 2.2 Wraith and maybe my Enduro to get a 4-10 Pro.

If I had to choose an option from the list I would build a 4-10 like Lashlee said. I personally want a 4-10 s that would be my choice lol. The next best thing though after that would be the trx-4.

I went the trail king. Should be here Tuesday. I don't comp, but might occasionally. The trail king fit the bill for me. I don't have any experience with the vs-4 trucks, but I can't justify the cost. Others can & that's fine, it's just not for me. Maybe if I was serious into comps. Of your list, I probably wouldn't go with the hpi venture. Looks like a solid kit, but zero support. It's a real shame what's happened to hpi.
