Help building Ridgecrest

I am not an avid rc crawler guy so I really am not up to speed with what’s out there.
I have a Ridgecrest I want to hop up to play with when I take me real Jeep out to run trails.
Chassis, shocks, drivetrain... what are some of the more common parts used and things done to make them better?

Depends what kind of terrain you go through. The axial purple springs will be soft enough to allow full flex. The stock shokcs aren't the best but they hold oil and work well enough to leave them alone. I'd invest in aluminium or steel links, especially steering links, a stronger steering servo and a BEC. The ESC is ok to do 2S but you need the castle link programmer to switch it to lipo for the cut-off. I'd suggest staying with the stock 20t pinion if you're trail running and to go around 14t if you want to rock crawl. Get some decent tires and alum wheels will give you enough weight to crawl really good.
