Have tech questions? Will answer.

For a TRX4 Sport, better a 1400kv or 1800 kv 45/12 revolver I don't know which one to buy, sidewinder 3:dar la vuelta:

I'd get the 1800kv, as the TRX-4 isn't the lightest of vehicles.

I run 1800 in my rig and it's very nice. But with sw3 controller, 1400 will be easier to tune with smooth start. Sw4 controller has better startup.

Although I recommend you 1800kv, at the moment I only have sw3 to use, and if 1400 is easier to configure I will buy the latter, I think I will get a good speed with it, I hope it is as smooth as Titan 21. Later on you may buy sw4 but I do not know when.
Thank you John Rob Holmes"Pulgares hacia arriba"

Hello, a Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster pro 16 t engine has just arrived, I have pinion 13 and spur 87 or 90 48p, and the engine will be mounted on a first generation SCX10, would this gear be correct to not heat the engine? ESC AE5 or HW 1080 3S?
I appreciate your response.

Get the Traxxas OBA module from fleaBay - it's waterproof:

"Bash it, crash it, and get it wet. No need to hold back...the sound system is just as rugged as the Slash itself."

Should be fine. I would recommend the 1080.

How can I waterproof a sound kit?

take it apart, conformal coat everything

I have an Axial Wraith that I need a new brushed motor for. I'm running the hobbywing 1080 ESC on 3s. Right now I'm geared 56/12. I was looking at the trail Master Series as I want to keep the cost down. 90% of the time I will be crawling and 10% Trails. I noticed on your website you recommend a 27t 540 motor. I also noticed that you have a 27t 550 motor. What is the difference in torque, power, start up smoothness, and speed between these two Motors. Ultimately, what would you recommend for The Wraith. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, the wraith transmission cannot accommodate a 550 motor.
You are stuck with a 540.

If you're willing to take a small amount of material out of the inner ear of the right-rear upper link mount of the Wraith skid, you can fit a 550 motor without issue, it's a pretty common modification. I ran a HH Trailmaster sport 27t 550 in one of my Wraiths for about a year and was pretty happy with it on 3s, though a touch on the slow side. I'm still running a 21t 550 in my other Wraith and with 56/11 it's a touch faster than I wanted, but that motor has survived for 3+ years. I think the answer is the 21t 550 on 3s, just geared a bit lower than 5:1 spur/pinion (which is about 38:1 total gear reduction with stock transmission and axle ratios.)

All else being equal, the 550 makes more torque, and will be a bit slower than a 540 of the same build type/ turn count, example: 21t 550 will have roughly the same speed as a 27t 540, 27t 550 will have roughly the same speed as a 35t 540. You'll never wish you had LESS torque than a brushed 550 in a Wraith, but you may find yourself wanting MORE than a 540. If budget allows, something like a TorqueMaster Pro 550 would be a step above the Trailmasters all around.

I just noticed the Holmes Hobbies SHV500 v2 is no longer listed on the site - only the HV500 v2 is there...

Uprated/newer model due out soon?
