I am interested in putting a hard body on my SCX10ii as many of you know. I am patiently waiting for my birthday because I ask my wife for one. Anyways I was hoping to compile a list of hard bodies that would work the the 10.ii and photos. If you have a hard body on your 10.ii please post it up. Also include how you mounted it.

Some of the hard bodies (based on specs alone) that might work are:

RC4WD Blazer Says its 11.3 WB and 8.79 Wide. Maybe with fender flares it would look right?

RC4WD Mojave II LWB Right WB but only 7.4 wide. I saw a photo on FB where the guy added fender flairs and it looked pretty close
Not my image but this is what I am talking about

Team Raffee XJ Perfect fit

Killerbody LC70 Same wheel base but only 7.88 wide. Again with fender flares might look right

What I am not sure about is if it is possible to even use something like this China Wrangler Same from Banggoodwith its 11" wheelbase. Maybe if you hacked the chassis rails up some? Someone with more experience would have to chime in here. I know they would have to be custom rear links.

Another 11" wheel base
Land Rover D90

Thanks!

SCX10II is a 12.3" wheelbase truck out of the box. To get anything other than the XJ to fit, you'll need to change the rear link lengths. That Wrangler is pretty short and I'd worry about driveline angles. Why not go with a New Bright JKU? It's pretty much spot on without much link work. And comes with an interior as well. If you're set on a Toyota, get the 80 series that's available on eBay. They look awesome on an SCX10 and need zero link adjustment.

An XJ I did:

I was hoping you would add to this thread, thanks Iamthatguy!

I have been looking for the new bright JKU, they seem pretty rare and the few that I have seen they are asking a fortune for, I rather go with the XJ body.

What are your thoughts on putting an RC4WD body on the stock chassis with smaller links? Like for the Blazer. Thats only an inch shorter than stock.

For me, ultimately the XJ keeps winning out. I want a class 1 rig that I can really trick out in the scale scene but performs like an SCx10ii. I like the the LC70 body though.......

I recently posted this elsewhere, but it's relevent here to.
I cut 37mm out of my rear link length to get the 275 wheelbase for the raffee D90.
The drive shaft is the standard parts supplied in the kit. Drive angles are fine. I made sure the top vs bottom link lengths were such to keep the drive shaft nice and straight.

I don't understand why you'd want to shorten the wheelbase..
If you just move the body back a little, you'd end up with this awesome approach angle and you'd have a stretched looking scaler

That makes it Class 2 unless the " centered in wheel wells" rule was removed for 2017.

Edit: +/- .5", might squeeze it. Wouldn't know till you try.

You can make the V2 work with most any hardbody. Comes down to what class you want to run and the overall theme of your build. The Toyota hilux is achievable for class one with several of the positive offset wheels available combined with the correct hub. "thumbsup". It all comes down to link length and proper set up. I have a pile of SS and titanium links on hand for this reason. You never know what it going to take to get the right wheelbase. Tip......Hoard quality links8)

This is an rc4wd blazer body just sitting on top of a 2.0. I think a set of front links out back would get the WB right or making links is easy enough. Only problem I see is that you'll have to cut the bed area behind the seats to fit with the kit transmission. Interior should fit fine untouched with the right battery placement. On my v1 this body is from I use the front bumper mount to hold the front and aluminum L to mount body posts for the holes in the bed, side body holes were filled in.

Blazer should work fine, just do the math on the rear link length. Do not change the front links, everything will go out of whack. XJ's a simple plop-on.

Didn't realize there were rules to this...

Where are the rules located? Can i cut my wheel wells so they would be considered centered?

Here is my RC4WD K5 Body on an SCX10 II. Trans was flipped and I had to trim a bit out of the floorboard. I also cut holes in the bed/cargo area for the shock towers. A cantilever kit or possibly original SCX10 rear shock towers with shorter shocks probably would have allowed the body to be dropped just as low without cutting the holes. Not sure what rear links those were originally. I think they were rears from a 12" wheelbase scx10. I think this wheelbase is around 11.5". The rear tires dont line up perfectly with the fenders but I dont care.

The New Bright JKs with full interior can be pretty expensive unless you luck out and find one at a garage sale or Goodwill. I paid $7 for mine. :D

Those China JKs are very nicely detailed but the wheelbase is very short..

I'm still thinking about buying one of the XJs. I'm just too lazy to build an interior.
