On the road again !
so after the unveiling of the much anticipated XR10, I built mine up, from day one i liked it, with some tuning i began to really like it, after rebuilding the axles 7-8 x's i began to hate it, i kept thinking to myself if it did'nt break i could've finished up there! well after all the mods that could be done were done i thought this thing can't break! Wrong!!!!!! after an easy burn in sand the idler and the final went snap, then i snapped!

well here it is i'm goin back to my trusty berg axles ! not giving up on the xr (yet) but rebuilding my berg !

the list

Y-town BJV4
BR00D 35t r/t's
dual fxr's
ccbec (7.0)
hitec 7950
1st set vp slw v1's wrapped with rover white's (13oz fr/4.2rr) thats total weight
2nd set vp dh2's and vp slw v4's wrapped in losi boss claws (same weight)
secret squirrel foams and links
futaba 4pk

as i start we will have pics updated as we go!
Thanks
fully modded/loaded berg axles (300's etc etc etc)

Noticed this a lot lately, looks like the "storm" is starting to come to an end.I drivin a couple and even the one with all th vp goods, bearing mod and all that crap done, I was still nervous to really get into it with the rig when I knew I could beat the piss outta my berg and not bat an eye

This makes me smile! I started with a LCC so i know the feeling. I look forward to seeing the Berg at the next comp and you getting to finish all 4 courses.

well after gettin her done fri nite i said f it and did'nt even test her out before sat's xmas comp in rocklin, so we get there and as we're settin up i decide to make sure everything works, whoops i forgot that berg has metric gears, ah shit no metric pinions for the rear, ok well i'll wait for HTR to open up and pick one up beings that noone here has one (almost all XR10's):flipoff:
so we help the best we could (elio and the boy's had it working well) so really no help was needed, so i bs'd for a bit and then finally HTR opened up so i go over there and ask em for some metric pinions, rudeness availed from some of their staff besides the fact they did'nt look for one so i said F them:evil: and went back to the comp, then people soon heard that i was pissed and Jake the owner's son came over and asked me what happened, so we spoke for a bit and was very apologetic at the fact and went back to the shop and then whammo him and dusty found what i was looking for.
Whoohoo i'm in business yee yee!!!!!!!!!
so i get her all back together and by this time everyone has almost ran their courses, and i'm totally razzled as i have'nt seen anyone run yet, F it let's do this!
after all the dust had settled it came down to me gettin 2nd place with a +32 for the day +31 was the score to beat, all in all i'm very happy to have made the switch back as i heard throughout my runs "oh sh%t he's gonna break" and with my trusty berg i knew she'd pull through!

I want to thank Jake at hobbytown rocklin and dusty for being great people and pullin through on the part! and Jake you will be a great store owner when pop's is ready to hand it over!
I know my wife is pissed for me going back to my berg as i took my axles back from her but we will get her steering back in order soon!

as soon as she can load pics we will have the crappy cell phone pics up (today)!

no tweaking or tuning to come on this rig as with the y-town V4 is a phenominal chassis Bar none to the other's IMO i will though be gearing down as i need a bit more torque to keep my esc's temp's a little lower!
not hot, but not as cool as i like em to be!

OH Yeah and ryan mindy needs your help on her steering!

Randy

well randy all i can say is BERG LIFE drive it like you should hard and fast "thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup""thumbsup":lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I was in the exact same boat. I'd have to sell my fully built berg to pay for upgade parts for the xr which would still not be as beefy as my berg. I just stuck with the berg. What are you gonna do with the XR ?

I think i will be switching back to the berg crap loads of money in the xr going to do a re build this week and during christmas and after my eye surgery is done on the 30th it will be a few weeks and the berg may be what i run from there on out.I am not going to bash the xr but something needs to be done by axial to make there customers happy otherwise there hurting themselves in the crawling world. This is my .02 cents worth i really like the way the xr performs but the question is for how long.

ok so after a few breaks in some area's i've decided to go throught the rig and freshen her up a bit,
new wheel weights from erik-d-lux (awesome)
new vp wheels (fronts)
new body (thanks elio)
gettin a bearing count together for some new bearings, and a rebuild kit for my super 300's, also some new locker's (a little slop on the front end)
that's bout it for now, will post up some pics from long beach when we get back!

and the wife has the xr10 now and she's diggin it!
