I have made my decision.
i will be getting the ARTR R1, with a novak terraclaw 35t brushed motor on a 2s lipo.
my only question:
will the portal axels & tranny hold up?
how long will the driveshafts last?

The first time you bind a front tire your front axle shaft will snap like a pretzel. If you use your head you will be OK. Stick to 2s and you will be OK. Replace all bearings in this rig as soon as you can especially the smaller ones, some people recommend the traxxas bushings for this. I got the kit and installed junfac steel shafts and never ran stock shafts so I can't advise you here. Get the Delrin Skid upgrade.

the rear driveshaft is more likely to fail than the front under heavy load mmp+tekin 17.5t+7cell nimh+stock rear drivshaft = infinite rage

i also reccomend the team fast eddy bearing kit the are top quality and i have never had an issue with them
