Im in the process of building my 4 linker and i would like to use a gear reduction box.

I have no clue about ratio's.
Ive looked at two boxes, one was 1:5 gear reduction, and the other was 1:2 gear reduction.
How lower geared is this? Too much or not enough?
What turn motor would suit these boxes?
Would i be better buying the gd600 which most people use?

Help apreciated.

Need a little more info like, what trans, what axles, what tires, how many cells are you running....

For instance, my clod works great with no gear reductions, just 9 tooth pinions with 27 turn motors set at 0 degrees on 2.2 tires running a 6 cell pack. Good wheel speed, more then enough torque.

My TXT runs a 2.66:1 gear reduction a stock gear box with a MM, running 6 cells on Nylint 1:6 tires.

Give us some more info, we would love to help;-)

ok,
Its a e-maxx tranny running 72/9 gearing with e-maxx axles, im running imex jumbo maxx tyres which are 6" tall, will probly run 1 3000nimh battery with 1 motor.
If you need any more info then just ask.

I apreciate your help!
