I popped my brushless cherry in my latest build and boy o boy am I impressed! If this thing is as waterproof and holds up,over time I can’t see myself going back to brushed. I actually want to try the fusion pro now in 2300kv! I do think the 1800 has adequate wheel speed it is as fast or slightly faster than my brushed rigs with 13 turn 540 crawlmasters. Did a bunch of snow wheeling lately and it has been killing it high speed bash style through the snow but also crawls sooooo smooth. Oh and it is super quiet compared to my brushed rigs.

I went the same path with the se 1800 as my first entry into brushless and got the Pro 2300 after since I liked the SE so much. I've been running both consistently in different rigs for 2 years and have been really happy with Fusions. I have another Pro on order to upgrade the stock rtr electronics in a Phoenix I recently tore down and rebuilt.

Going from SE to Pro is marginal gains to be honest and I'd say the benefits are mostly going to be even more slow speed smoothness and higher top end speed. To quantify you get 80-90% of the benefits of the Pro at half the cost. Imo, the SE sets the benchmark for entry into brushless.

It sounds like you got all the boxes checked so no need to 'upgrade' since you are taking advantage of all the benefits the SE offers but if you are curious it's still good value.

Yeah, speed and higher current rating for a heavier rigs is really the only reason to step up to the Pro, or the 8ight if you need even more current (or 4s compatibility), otherwise the SE is amazing for the money.

The convenience of a 2-in-1 unit trumps everything else to me. Sure, you can get more speed and punch from other ESC and motor combos, but I'll take the Fusion Pro 2300KV every day. No soldering, no extra wires, one component to install rather than two, etc.

I still have to try out my 8ight and the 1200kv flavor. I do intend to own all of them and slapping them in a rig.

The startup on the pro is noticeably better than the se, but the main feature on the pro that makes it my pick over the se is punch. The power feeds in so softly on these systems. I like having more kick available when I need to bump up an obstacle.

For the money the se is still my recommendation over the old brushed go-to starter upgrade of a hw1080 and Holmes motor.

I like the hw1080/holmes motor for trail rig but do prefer the brushless for more dedicated crawling.

I've used the SE 1800 in both my Wraith and Bomber. Luv them!!
I used the mini16 in my UTB18 and my Arrma Grom. The 2 in 1 is space saving and easy to install. Less wires and not soldering is nice also. I'm impressed with low end control and you get decent punch too. All in all I'm very happy with the 4 I have.

What’s up with the 8eight i see it is for the big rigs but is it the same size as the others - se or pro?
For the larger scale rigs like the SCX6, etc.

You just got me realizing the Fusion 8ight is spelled the same way as the Losi 8ight vehicles. I wonder why that isn't a copyright infringement...

8ight has been used so many times by so many companies in so many different industries it is likely no longer copyright-able.
Interesting. That's news to me. Losi's use of it is the first time I ever remember seeing 8IGHT. My Bing and Google searches agree.

What are you familiar with that is named 8IGHT?

My brain is mostly polluted with bicycle stuff. Lots of stuff like 8ight ball valve caps, etc crap like that. Pretty sure Origin8 spelled it with 8ight early on but not for a long time.

I know zero about bikes. To me, they're just motorcycles that are missing an engine. :ROFLMAO: But I never had the human horsepower of a "normal" person or else I probably would have really enjoyed bikes as an adult.
