Flysky GT5 low voltage alarm

I put some 2s LiPos in both of our GT5 transmitters.
Ran them down to 7.4v and the low voltage alarm on the transmitter started. Beeping, flashing and vibrating.
At 7.0 the transmitter shut off.


For alkaline batteries the LVA is 4.4v. Why would the LiPo be 7.4 for the alarm and 7.0 for shutoff?


Is there any way to bypass or disable that alarm?
 
I have the same but not on Lipo. Their is probably a way to break that. I have a friend who may know the answer. He has been really busy the last week or so. Ill see what I can find out.

On a side not that low power alert is annoying and I feel you pain.

Sounds like it’s set to go off at 3.5v per cell which is not uncommon, I’d drop it down to 3.2v per cell myself but you really don’t want the cells going lower than 3.0v per cell. You can damage them at that point, or worse.

3.7v per cell when the alarm (flashing LEDs, Beeping and vibrating) starts.
3.5v per cell when the transmitter shuts off.
I understand that 3.0v is a damage threshold. But this starts the painful alarm long before it gets there and shuts off at a voltage also far away.


I imagine that this is not something I am going to be able to change. I suspect I will go with a larger capacity 2s pack, even if I need to cut some plastic to make it fit. That should give me a burn time that is long enough.
 
I think you’re right, just looked through the manual it’s listed as a specification, not a setting. That’s a bummer.
 
So now I think I need to look for the largest 2s pack I can cram in. I saw a pic where someone had cut open the front of the battery bay to fit in a longer pack.
I need to open up the case and see what the maximum dimensions are. *I* don't mind hacking out the AA springs but I suspect my wife will not want me to change hers so that it wil no longer accept the AAs as a backup in the field.
