Firma or Fusion 2 in 1 2300kv for Phoenix.

@Steven, did you have to reverse the rotation?

Yes, and the steering in my Phoenix portal. I used the transmitter to do it. I used the Tekin roc 412 3100kv in it. I need to get the hotwire for my RX4 ESC so I can use it, instead of the transmitter. You can use the buttons on it but I don't want too. I read somewhere it's not good to use the transmitter for that, how true that is I don't know. I have no idea why I had to do that, my motor and ESC are wired correctly.

Gotcha. Guess I'll find out this weekend when I get it installed. I'll make sure to check my transmitter settings before starting calibration.

Finally got around to installing the Fusion SE 1800kv. Went in without a hitch and I only had to loosen the 2 standoffs to get it to slide in. Surprisingly, I didn't have to do any trimming and the bottom bolt went back in without any trouble.

Going to be building my phoenix kit soon as was looking a the fusion 1800kv for mine but was hearing it wouldn’t fit. Glad to hear it can be wedged in there lol. How do you like this combo in the phoenix? Running 2 or 3s and what pinion if you don’t mind me asking.
Thanks!

I ran my Fusion SE 1800kv in my Phoenix portal for the first time last weekend. All stock pinion and spur and it was perfect IMO. Great low speed control for rock crawling and more than enough top end for trailing.

When the HonbyWing Fusion ESC and motor first came out, the FOC wasn’t well loved. Why does it now seem more accepted in this Fusion all in one motor with the built-in ESC? Does the FOC behave differently in this application?

Just a guess, but I would suspect the form factor, simplicity, price, etc might sway some people to overlook what they might have perceived as a shortcoming in the standard axe setup.

I never used an Axe system, but I have no complaints with how my fusion powered rigs perform. Consistent and predictable. I've got 2 fusion pros, and 1 se 1800. The only setting I miss in the se is punch, but if the speed is OK at 1800kv the price can't be beat.

Yes I remember when the Fusion first came out. There were many negative comments about it. I never bought one of the first Fusion Axe systems, but did by the first version of the Fusion 2-in-1. It is ok and works as it should.

But the newest version of the Fusion Pro and SE are now my goto ESC combos. First off is the ease of installation and the very little room needed for the combo in the rig. Second is the performance. These systems are very smooth and have great low speed control. I now run all Hobbywing systems in my rigs and have retired my Castle Mamba systems that I used to think were great crawling systems. The remaining Castle Mamba's that I still have will now be going in my gofast rigs.

The Fusion Pro would be my first choice to buy, but the Fusion SE with it's low price has been my choice recently. It's about a 2 for 1 deal compared to the Pro! The few settings that are lacking in the SE hasn't really bothered me.

AXE! That's the name I forgot.

I also think the size probably sucked most people in. Good to know about Pro vs SE. Thank you.

I may have to give one a shot. Thank you!
