electronics setup questions

I have been looking at different components for a while looking for a good setup. I think I found a decent setup, just wanted to run it by a few people, maybe get a few pointers or things I should change.

Motor: 35t HH Torquemaster sport 540
ESC: Sidewinder 3
BEC: CC BEC
Servo: Savox SW-0231MG
Battery: Gforce 30C 1300mAh 3S 11.1V Lips
Transmitter: Futaba 3PL
Receiver: R2004GF

I was thinking of maybe a higher turn motor for speed (of it works like I think it does and higher turns is higher speed). Possibly a transmitter/receiver with more channels for future expansions I might do. Maybe a larger battery for better run times.

I have an Axial AX10 kit that just needs the components to run. It has been sitting around long enough and I am finally looking to put parts into it.

Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated.
 
That motor on 3s should get ya moving pretty good...and you can always change the spur/pinion for more speed if you need it.. my son has been using an sv3 since they were first released and It still works great, it also has a bec on it..

I would look at the hacked GT3B or GT3C radio. Depending on the receiver you buy, it has up to 8 channels. FlySky

The 3PL has a 2 position switch for the third channel. A 2 position switch is suboptimal for controlling a winch or Dig both of which requires 3 positions.
 
Just an FYI to you, it's opposite as you think on the motor. Lower number of turns equates to higher speed, but on 3s your setup should have plenty.

I dunno, I kinna like that list. I run those same batteries, and like them. I use the 2PL, though. I don't have dig on the Poison Dart, and the lights on the CUCV are just plugged into the receiver and come on anytime a battery is connected.
I assume the sport motor, ESC and servo were all chosen for their waterproof attributes?
For running in water, mud, grass, sand, and crawling, I'd recommend 16/87 or 17/87 gearing (48 pitch)
For mostly trail running, and only occasional crawls, I'd say go with 17/87 or 18/87 gearing.
I tried 20/87 gearing in my CUCV one time, and even with 1.9 tires, it seemed like I lost a lot of low end power, and really didn't gain much top end speed. Went back to 14/87 to get back my crawling power. If your AX has 2.2's on it, the loss in power should be even more pronounced, imo.
