Ecto body on Trail Truck Builder's Kit

Hey JimInMiami

Finally received my BK2 but no stock of the ecto bodies still :cry::cry:

I have been looking at your body positioning again and it looks like the shock and mount just barely miss the inner bed fender. You have your shock mount slightly further forward of the original holes and I am just a little concerned that I would have to mount the body further backwards a little to avoid this!
Then I may also have to trim the front rails to tuck the front bumper in more.... :|

Loving the other builds with this body in this thread "thumbsup"

Edit: Having a blonde moment again...realized that you moved the shock tower and not the brace. I thought you had drilled addiotnal holes

Hey Lee, you're correct in that I moved the shock towers and not the brace, though I should have moved the brace too. Just slide everything over towards the front to the next set of holes and everything then clears the body. There is no real disadvantage to moving the shock towers - yes, theoretically it will soften the spring rate, but you can compensate by simply adjusting the shock collars to increase spring pre-load.

Do post pics of your hybrid Ecto when done, the more the merrier!

great build idea! i am loving my Sendero HD but i know its a scale crawler/scale trail truck. I eyed up the ecto but wanted to do a scale one first.

i really like the ecto on a sendero body tho. i am unsure on the trailing arm idea...i think i like traditional. id like a more extreme crawler for more bash/scraping/less worry about a perfect body, and the ectos open wheel style works perf. what u guys say? whats the etter chasss for bigger rocks and going over/up bigger stuff with a ecto body?

ill get one eventually, just gotta decide on what chassis to run....
