ECRCC 3rd Summer Series Event!

Hey guys, I learned a lot today and wanted to thank everyone for taking some time to share their knowledge with driving and rig setup. I'll be working on both before I can get to the next meetup! I'll try to get a link to the pics posted here tmrw after I delete about 100 or so blurry ones.... Hopefully not more than that...

It was a pleasure to meet you "thumbsup" and you did a great job I was impressed with the rig and driving

Don,t get crazy and spend $$$$ just purchase the right things you know the servo is shot so get a new one price 150- 220 the hi techs are the best one off the guys I run with bought a hi tech brushless it was a red heat sink and a 25 tooth spline for the servo horn I think there about 180$ but it will be the only one you ever buy and save the receipts there warranty service is the best in the industry at this time if you ever need it

And a castle creations bec 10 amp about 23$ it will need to be programmed for 7.4 volts I think or you can purchase a castle link about 20-30$ and you will use a few times as you go on

The next big investment would be tires I would recommend voodoo silvers purchase them from Cory or purple mart that his company if you will it will cost you about 95$ narrowed and purchase some crawler invotions foams they are double deuce narrowed comp cut soft 6.0 for the fronts and double deuce medium narrowed 5.5 reg or comp cut I would lean to reg unless you plan on cutting pins;-) those with shipping would be about 40$ if you want and you don,t plan on getting crazy with the wheels yet I would look into crawler innovations 6 spoke plastic wheels and you can glue them on there about 11-12$ a set but before you mount theme you have to vent the tires the best thing to get is leather punch on eBay or I thing harbor freight may have them get the one that has a wheel with spikes or dies for different size holes

The third would be a complete set of shocks from rcbros there 80$ and every one just about uses them

After that the other guys may help you with carbon mounting plates Etc."thumbsup"

Thanks for the advice and it's definitely the items across the board which were mentioned to possibly upgrade. I have a servo on the way from topmodeler which looks good and if it doesn't work out then I'll go with a hitec 7950. I have a castle bec already and will be switching it out and into this rig but need to pick up the castle link which I will! The cf wheels being used by the guys there were nice and in the future I'll try to get a pair but for now after these other necessities I'll stick with the carbon fiber beadlocks on there (tires still in place after smashing and twisting them under the rocks haha). Will be ordering CI foams right away and will get a harbor freight leather punch (drilled some holes for lack of time but leather punch will def be better). I did cut pins off these tires based off CI review which was very tedious but done so will stick with them for now since I put the work in. I also need to shorten the wheelbase, measured it when I got home spread out and was over 12.5" have some room to turn the ball ends.
Had a lot of fun but servo was easily the biggest issue!

Just wanted to say today was another great ECRCC event!!!!! I had a blast, especially battling out with Stan at the end. Bluff Point is a beautiful location with some serious rock. Great to meet Shaun also, hopefully you can make it to more of our events. Can't wait until the next one!"thumbsup"
