Hello all!
New to the forum, just completed a Yeti build and purchased the AX90035
SCX10™ 2012 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited C/R Edition 1/10th Scale Electric 4WD – RTR for crawling / pulling a boat trailer that I'm going to build.

Question: Will the proline early 50's body fit the SCX10 RTR?
The description indicates it will, but I've heard otherwise.

Pro-Line Early 50's Chevy Body 3255 for 1:10 Truck

"This is the Early 50's Chevy® Clear Body for the Traxxas® Stampede® and Stampede® 4X4. There's nothing like a classic automobile. It's rugged design, non-plastic interior screams ingenuity and provides a unique character. Maybe that's why most American's have such awe for classics; or, maybe it's because of their simplicity. Whatever that case may be, you love them and are reminded of a different time. Pro-Line welcomes you back to the future of automobiles with the release of the Early 50's Chevy® for the Electric or Nitro Stampede as well as the Axial AX10, Axial SCX10, Tamiya CR-01."

Looks like Axials 54 chev body isn't available anymore.

The AX90035 has the longer 12.3" wheelbase. My understanding is that the longer wheel base fits Proline's E-Maxx bodies (@ 12.6"), and the shorter wheelbase fits their Stampede bodies. Since that 50's Chevy body is for the Stampede, you will probably have to shorten your links to line up the wheel wells. I'm using an E-Maxx body on my Honcho, and compensate for the extra .3" wheelbase by using slightly longer rod ends.

Short of being able to walk into a hobby shop & measure it I wouldn't be buying a Stampede body for my scx10.
If you look at others in ProLines 1:10 MT range they're only 6" wide & around 10.5" wheel base.

Axial has another variant you might like. The Axial B-17 Betty for the AX10 Scorpion with a 12-12.6" wheelbase (PN: AX4004). It looks somewhat similar to the Axial CF-100 for the SCX10 Kustom Retro with a 11.4" wheelbase, as shown in the picture (PN: AX4013). The most noticeable difference is the B-17 has a winch and gas canisters molded in. You can occasionally find it on rc recycler or ebay, but they're usually already painted. Another discontinued body you might be able to find is Proline's 50s Chevy for the E/T-Maxx (PN: PRO310601), but it doesn't look as good in my opinion.

Also, If you are good at crafting, you could always chop the bed off the Proline body and make a tubed rear. Here's a link to a build using Parma's 57 Chevy for an example: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axial-scx-10/405466-57-chevy-beater-truggy.html. And to take it a step further, I found a damn good scratch build of a later model you could reference: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/1-9-scale-rigs/540808-59-chevy-apache.html

I was lucky and found an unpainted CF-100 body still in the box including the decal sheet yesterday - so I bought it today!
I can't wait to receive it and paint it up!

This forum is great! "thumbsup"

I finally painted the early 50's body - I love it !

This was the body from the original scx10,axial made this not proline. It's been discontinued for a while. Occasionally they will pop up on ebay and on here in the classified section.

No, the Axial B-17 Betty body was the original AX-10 body, still have mine all painted and cut too much. Good looking bodies.

I said original scx10 not ax10, scx10 was originally only in kit form and the 1st one was that body not the Betty she was never offered on the scx10

Darth, the flames look great on the classic body! I saw a guy that sells red lcg chassis on ebay, now that would look hot! and btw, you have to pay $20 for a green star to get on the classifieds, in case your wonderin'...

A red chassis would be awesome! Most of the driving though will be with the Jeep body on it. A front bumper winch is next. Then a boat, and a home made boat trailer .

Hey you sent me a pm, you are talking about the original SCX10 short wheel base 50's body that came with the Legacy Kustom Retro kit, it's one the Axial website in the discontinued section, the black is used and some one cut the body, the clear one is untrimmed and have the sticker sheet and sticker placement sheet, I looked and found a bunch of completed sales for already painted ones which now are unavailable, but no untrimmed ones or unpainted ones that are also unavailable and no sticker sheets either, I still have the original rims and green bead locks rings and the 1.9'' Flat Iron tires from the original kit, not sure I want to part with it, it worth more than what your offering since there not available
