Dumb attack moment with the portals

So I bought the portal axles. They have been great so far. I hooked a Baja Pro tire on a limb stub and twisted the chub on the axle. Be sure to tighten the 3 screws down tight. Lesson learned.
Now on to the dumb attack. So I ordered the under drive gear set and installed them. Great easy. On the trail it sucked, front tires just spinning away rear barely spinning. After about 30 mins it hit me. I had overdrive to the front in the trans and now under in the rear.
Oh well easy fix. It wouldn't climb some spots due to lack of rear wheel speed and off camber was terrible the rear would just slide down.

How does the build on the portal axles feel? I was hearing some folks say they seemed like cheap Chinese parts and that Element had sourced them out to just get something on the market. I was debating on putting them on my Zuul and potentially utilize the rear-steer function as well since they send you two steering axles with a lockout kit.

Do you have a photo? Trying to understand. Did it twist the plastic C-hub?

I had a similar thing happen to my stock C-hub when I got my wheel caught in some netting. Essentially as the wheel twisted, it took the C-hub with it so that my left front wheel instead of angling left and right, was angling up and down. It was an easy fix of loosening the screws that hold the C-hub on, turning it back to where it should be, then retightening it. I assume the same thing happened here.

Well that's the difference between the element portal axles and my axial ar45 rear portal axle.

When I stuck a wheel in something that twisted the portal box housing it just spiral fractured the axle housing tube since axial housings are all one piece with the portal box.

So the separate portal box saved you guys a few bucks and might have been field serviceable to continue the fun.
