Does 2.2 Wheel width affect tire selection?

I see the majority of wheels come in 1.0", 1.2" and some 1.4" width, and wondered if a certain width would limit tire choice?

I have been looking at the Flatiron XL, Hyrax, and the Rock Beast (II and XOR) tires and wanted to know is there a recommended wheel width for these tires?

I plan to order a set of tires during all the "sales" going on, and thought it wouldn't hurt to ask someone that runs these, and get their opinion. I like the "look" of all three of these choices, but has to function well too. Wanted to start with 1 set, and if needed, buy an additional set later on. Running kit tires now which aren't too bad really....maybe a little too much roll on the sidewalls, but I do have some CI DD foams that would probably fix that.

The real narrow wheels are a real bitch to fit tyres onto.
I'd personally find the wheel I wanted then the tyre.
Some manufacturers, like SSD, have a particular component list for some brands, like Proline.

If you find SSD in the sales them I'd highly recommend them as they're a breeze to build and look awesome [emoji106]

I think I remember seeing that SSD was one of the few vendors that did offer their wheels specifically made for the "Proline" tires....so may give them a look again.
