Do I need a bec?

So I bought an nsdrc rs700 for my trx4. It's got two leads, one for the receiver and clearly one for power.
My question is, do I need a bec?
All of my rigs run deans plugs. Can I just solder a couple a couple extra leads on my plug and run straight battery power to the servo? I understand power is gonna diminish as the battery dies, but I'm currently running a 5200mah 3s battery, so I'm not really worried about power.
I hope this all makes sense. I appreciate any input.

No BEC needed. BEC only recommended for non-direct power servos if you have a servo that can withstand higher voltage. And yes you can solder more JST plugs inline usually on the ESC side of the battery connector.

If I remember correctly, NSDRC makes a Deans adapter specifically for those servos. Had a dual-Deans connector (one male end & one female end), with a separate lead ending in the same connector as the servo power connector (obviously, of the 'opposite' type). I bought mine, among with servos, directly from NSDRC.
