Dlux Super Mini

Bring it? Its already been broughten, Holmes!

Anytime I think of "trail class", the first thing that comes to mind is what role I would like to play in that. That role would be the same as the locals who run the Baja 1000 backwards.

Maybe we need a new class? :flipoff: We could all make F150's, load them up with "Homies" in the bed, crash into the people who are trying to drive trail?

Finally a class I can totally commit to!"thumbsup"

when will this come on youre webstore???
I love the consept... 1/10 super,, AWSOME...
And the axles are perfection,, and the chassis looks extermly cool,,,
would be a dream to try out this rig sometime in the near future...

I made up some Sedona inner, full size soft Crawler Innovation 5.5 outer foam. They actually feel really, really good. I like the foam stiff in the VooDoo though. One huge issue with more foam was that the foam really wanted to poke into the wheels. On my super build, I glued some mesh around the wheel to keep the foam in but it ended up ripping and not working. On the super, the foam is stiff enough itself in once placed right so I never dealt with the foam on that car.

Best thing I came up with for now was some rubber bands. Seems like it could actually work OK? I am not totally sold on the idea if anybody has something else in mind they would like to share. The tan bands are killing me too. I ordered some black rubber bands but they wont be here for a bit.

Hey Erik this is what I came up with for the wheels You built me. I tried the screen material as well but it didn't work well and was tough to glue. I used lexan sheets and cut to the width of the wheel and used a small hole punch to vent and glued it over the wheel just like the screen. I used .030 but could probably use .020. I have a picture but its not letting me post it

For now, I need to leave them off my site. People already find it too confusing and adding more parts is not the answer. If you want anything you have seen in this thread, all you have to do is PM me. "thumbsup"

Cool. I thought about Lexan but I have never had any luck gluing to it. I will give it some thought as it would be probably the easiest and quickest for me."thumbsup"

If you have a 3d printer you can always do something like this:
SDC16141_zpscqtnjwdx.jpg

This actually is a 2 peace part so it can be easily mounted on my application.

This is a great builders class!

I don't what to off-topic Erik thread with my stuff.

But I will have an update on my topic in the next couple of days regarding these wheels.

I forgot to mention that I don't have a 3d printed myself. I use Shapeways and I really like the quality. So far every part came perfect!

Those printed centers are really, really nice.

I got rid of my 3d printer, it just didnt have the quality that I wanted so I will just lean on Shapeways until the technology improves.

Those look pretty expensive though? About $30 each maybe?

5€ each part so that means 10€ for each wheel.
The diameter is around 100mm

They were a bit of a pain to model in SW but that's part of the fun.

Go for it!
If it's one part only instead of two it will probably be even cheaper.
If you need some help designing it drop me a PM and I can set you up.

Wow! What a crazy busy last month! I have not had time to do anything besides work. Looks like it may be easing up a bit.

I havent been able to touch this car since the AZ shootout. It got a couple of packs through and then blew a BEC so I need to fix the BEC.

I went through St. G on the way back from the shootout and got some pics. This car was really fun to drive, cant wait to get out on the rock again!

Not yet. Spencer has ran it the most. I think he got 1-2 packs through it. I only got 1/2 pack or so before the BEC went.

Overall, it seemed less capable than my 2.2 unless rear steer was needed and then its no competition. I am guessing the tire/foam combo needs tuning and the overall width might be hurting it a bit. I am going to drive it some more before doing anything though.

Narrower or wider on the overall width?

Does it roll like the wheels are square with the big gaps between the cross braces in the wheels? It looks like there is to big or a difference to not be noticeable?

I think the narrowness holds it back a bit. The only thing I saw was it had a hard time reaching ledges. I could be wrong though. Seriously, cant know too much on just a half pack....

I didnt notice anything abnormal with the wheel spacing.
