Hi guys, i have an old build that recently show some sign of problem. Lately, when I run it, the crawler will just shut down after a few minutes. After I flick the ON/OFF switch again it powers on okay. I kind did the below and I hope to seek some experience user here to maybe help me rectify the issue :

1) The DIG servo. Lately the servo is making a lot of noise while driving. I replace it with a new servo but it still behaves the same way. This never happened before, the servo motor seeking noise.

2) The problems go away after I unplug the DIG servo from the receiver (Meaning no DIG at all). It seems like the servo was the issue but I have replace 2 servo and encounter the same issue. Could it be just my luck that the replacement servo is also bad ? It’s the servo that came with my Airtronics (Sanwa) TX.

My setup as below (it’s a Gmade R1), I know… they are old:

- Novak Eiger ESC
- Novak Terra Crawl Motor
- RC4WD R2D gear box with DIG
- Savox Steering servo
- Sanwa DIG servo
- Frsky R6 six Channel RX

Any advice will be much appreciated.

It sounds like maybe the receiver could be the cause.

You could test the dig servo by plugging it into your steering channel, if it works fine and lets you run without shutting down the servo should be good. To test out if its the receiver at fault plug your known good steering servo into the dig channel or if you have another receiver you could use it to test with.

Its possible that you have a bad channel on the receiver and I suppose if you have extra channels you could try using them instead.

i second BEC. my truck ran fine til i added a second servo. it always shut off when i activated the second one then i added a BEC and it hasn't shut down since.

Something that might be worth checking is the end-point adjustments for the dig servo. If the dig servo is trying to move beyond what the linkage is able to move, it will draw a lot of current and could heat up the ESC's built in BEC and cause it to brown out or even fail.
