Some back story first. I saw no sub forum for the HSP brand so it might not be very well know in the states. High Speed Hobby Products otherwise known as HSP is a Chinese manufacturer of lots of cars. They make a lot of cars for other vendors. Redcat racing, Some hpi, some maverick etc etc. They have a very cheap knockoff of an AX10. I bought one to see if I liked crawling and to teach my then 2 1/2 year old how to drive and steer etc. I since bought an Axial SCX10 Honcho which my son (now just turning 4) seems to love. He always wants to use the Honcho leaving me with the HSP lol.

So I converted my HSP Pangolin into an Axial SCX10. Used the HSP drivetrain and electrics and an Axial SCX10 chassis I picked up 2nd hand.

From this (has different shocks fitted in this pic)

To this.

The gearbox mount/skid plate has to have 2 of the holes slotted to mount up the HSP gearbox. Otherwise everything else just worked. I fitted stock plastic axial links on the front as i had them spare. I used some of the HSP links to make a 4 link setup on the rear. The front lower links on the HSP are bent inwards to give more steering angle. I turned these 90deg and used them for rear lower links. The bend gives them higher clearance. Then used the rear links to make upper links for the rear with a custom 4 link mount. I also deleted the rear steering bar.

Similar to what I did with my E10. I've done so much changing on it I've just about got enough parts to build another E10. Tranny and links are all I need lol. The Redcat axles are getting traded for R1 axles and I'm sure the transmission will be replaced as soon as I make up my mind on what I want to change it to. Then I can build a stock Redcat and start modifying it all over again "thumbsup"

The stock drive shafts are garbage. I replaced them with some axial WB8 units. If they bresk I'll replace them with Junfac carbon steel units like the ones on my real scx10.

Any steel or alloy drive shafts to suit an AX10 or SCX10 will work. I fitted kunfac carbon steel units on my scx10 and fitted the wb8 axial shafts in my hsp. The wb8 ines are a combination of plastic shafts with metal uni joints. Just look on ebay for scx10 drive shafts.

Hi there, I was thinking about doing the same as you did coz I have an hsp pangolin.
Can you post more pictures showing the links of the front and rear axles?
Is still running?:ror:

This is what the factory rear links look like.

I used the front lower hsp links as the rear lower links on the hsp and mounted them to the factory points on each. I then used the factory hsp rear lower links as the rear uppers and mounted them like this.

As you can see in this pic I added some spacers to make them slightly longer so the drive shaft angle was better.

For the front I fitted factory axial scx10 3 link hardware as i had them lying around and it was the easiest option. The axial 3 link top mount bolted straight up to the hsp axle housing. Lower front used factory plastic links. I'm sure it would be very easy to spurce these 2nd hand locally or with a bit of playing around to to get all the original hsp hardware to work.

Today I bought a scx10 as second hand! But not gonna scrap this idea so I'm going to use the scx10 as a guide and copy, paste lol.

I found the 1/2 inch square tube for the chassis rail cut and bent and waiting for the shock absorbers and front links in aluminium.

Hi I haven't got time to finish but it's looking like a chassis, the shock absorbers that I bought are shorter than the original ones by 1cm so I have to get longer ones.
