Going with 2.2 on my Capra and setup to strictly slow crawl.
As I've never used pin style tires, I am looking at Ibex or Voodoo. Leaning towards Ibex on price and availability. RC4WD makes pins too I believe. Thoughts on those?
I've used Crawler Innovations foams in the past and will stick with them.
CI also sells inexpensive plastic wheels. Considering going with those and just glue the tires. They offer 1" and 1.5" width. What are the pro's/con's of those sizes?
Also planning on leaving wheels without weights and just keep throwing brass on the chassis.
Any input or ideas is appreciated.

IMHO voodoo tires.. the Ibex shouldn't have been made with predator compound... probably be a much better tire in g8 compound.. just my 2 cents.
I should add I've only ran Ibex tires on my 2.2 pro rig (berg).

I like my ibex in the rear with dlux GOATs up front. Get the 1" wide wheels, and use 6" medium or firm rear CI dual stage foams.

I have e tried all 3 pins you spoke of. The biggest problem with the RC4WD is the compound is hit or miss. One pair felt totally different from the other pair. Much harder. The VooDoos are a great tire but are too wide in stock form. I have a set that were cut down from Purpmart I believe. A very nice job and the tire perform great. And the Ibex are my latest purchase, they are the right width and seem to be similar traction as the VooDoos. The trick with the Ibex was what foams to use. I tried the foams from the VooDoos and didn't like them. I wound up using CI narrow comp cut in back with tuning rings and standard cut up front. Soft front and med. rear with standard cut on the pins. Truly I think after I got the CI foams in and tried them stock they were good. Once I cut every other row of pins alternating inside and outside (so they don't look like paddles) it really woke them up. May be my new go to tire. VooDoos still hold a place in the tire box for me though, they are so easy to get to hook. These tires are also on a comp Capra, on 3/4 inch wide aluminum rims. My setup is with a SCXiii rear axle so I could get the width down a bit. The SCXiii uses all the same gears so it was an easy swap. If you do this GET THE DIFF COVER. The axle doesn't com"thumbsup"e with one and it took 3 weeks to find one in stock.
