colorado springs weekly comps/trail runs?

I have seen a few folks doing practice comp crawling around Palmer park, but have not seen or heard of any competitions. Mostly recreation scale trail runs and GTGs...1.9 or 2.2. At least this is what I have witnessed.

I go to Palmer Park almost weekly with my 2.2s rig and seldom see any other comp rigs there. More scale than anything. I would love to see some comps down here but not sure what it would take to get the comp rigs out of hiding. I have only been to 2 comps and only entered one of those. I don't mind helping set up some courses but not ready to judge let alone organize anything. Would love to see how my low budget rig stacks up.

I have been thinking about getting back into it with some sort of scaler. Hopefully something to resemble my 1:1 rig. Thinking of an scx10. Either way I will probably build a comp rig also.

There are a few guys in town that do the 2.2 comp rigs. But it seems the 1.9 and 2.2 scale rigs are more popular than ever now due to the freedom it gives to go on a hike and bring your rig with you. Check the Denver forums for comps. I know the crawl space throws them every week but you have to drive to north Denver.

I have been keeping my eye out for local scale crawlers and asking around the hobby stores without luck.
This is AWESOME!

I'll keep my eyes open for the next crawl, and schedule permitting I'll bring one of my trucks out.

We get together every weekend, mostly Sunday mornings. But we try to go to a new spot every weekend around the springs. Most of the rigs that are runnin are either scx10s or wraiths so what ever you run, you won't be left out"thumbsup"

Looks like you guys had fun!

argh I finaly got a actual bumper and some sweet up grades for my wraith and wat do I do put my remote and tools in the back of my storage unit I just might say screw it and go digging tomorrow or in a bit after work seein as my 5th scale is definitely down for now....

Hmmmm. Took the family out to play some putt-putt at the Legends Golf place at Dublin and Powers. Looks like some great crawling in there. Wonder how pissed they would get? Palmer Park was rough on the crawler again today. Pulled the cap and threads off a shock, servo seems have had some sort of melt down and front axle housing is now broken in two places (been broken in one for awhile) Maybe I should start my winter rebuild early. A second crawler to play with while I fix my broken junk is really what the Dr. ordered.

Just to make sure for tomorrow morning, lazy land is less than 1/4 mile in from the maizeland entrance by the dog park right?

Is there any way to know who I'm looking for? (If I don't see someone walking with scale crawler)

My Tamiya is still down for moding so I'll be bringing my rust colored dingo and driving a beat up silver blazer (that cost less than my scalers lol)

Its about that roughly. There is a sign for it on the right follow it till it dead ends. Look for a Silver Dakota, A black Focus, A black Silverado. We will most like have them out.

Yea you need to drive past the dog park and past the over look entrance. It's about a 1/4 mile and the over look entrance, there's a sign for lazy land and yea take it all the way down to the dead end"thumbsup"

Man I had a blast today! What a great group to hang out with.

Thanks for loaning a battery pack, it doubled my time on the trail. I also got a few good pics, and a couple videos, although nothing from the moab section.

I also found a $14 upgrade for what I broke today, so the damage wasn't too bad.
