Get Ready!

The winter weather and the indoor point series are both coming to an end. Thus begins the planning of the next point series. I am starting to plot dates and venues for this and if there are any new spots worth adding please post up with pictures and directions. Eric has suggested Alum Creek Dam. We will be using most of the past locations as well.
If we get some new ones we will fit them in.

All are invited, There willl be 7 events w/two throw aways. We will resume a weekend / AM schedule as done in the past.
For this series:
-There will be a $5 entry fee per event.
For a $25 buy in you will be able to run in 5 events and receive a T-shirt.
Beyond that you will pay for additional events at $5 a piece.
Anyone who competes in 5 or more events will get a t-shirt once they have paid for their 5th event if they chose not to do the buy in.
After payment, your shirt will be available at the final comp.
Not exactly sure on the details but that same buy in will prob buy you a plate at the finale cook out"thumbsup"

-We will be comping at 10am on sunday mornings.
-We will be using the current national rules for progress (-2 per gate, Not Progressive Scoring)

For this series we will also go back to the national rules for progress points. I think this will help all of us when competing in other venues abroad. THERE WILL BE NO 20 PT AND CARRY.

.
As always check back to the first post of this thread as it will include the most current updates.
Hope to see you there

Here is the schedule:
1: April 18th-Griggs Resevoir (Columbus/ Upper arlington)
2: May 16th-Emerald Parkway
3: June 6th-Emerald Parway Under the Bridge! This is the new date voted on at the 5-4-10 COC Club Meeting
4: June 20th-Hoove Resevoir (Columbus/ Westerville)
5: July 11th-Acadamy Park (Columbus/Bexley)

6: Aug 1st-Acadamy Park (Columbus/Bexley)
7: Aug 22nd- Group Favorite/TBA
There will be no rain dates! No reschedules due to attendance. IT IS ONLY FAIR! We have covered areas to comp if needed and will make sure all are aware of needed changes.
The venues are subject to change to meet weather conditions but the dates and times are not.

I would also like to include an additional fun event Like a blind drive on the final comp.( you must rely on a spotter to get through a simple course) Could be for fun or maybe a cheap buy in??? Just a thought.

If you need greater detail you can use google maps and search "Alum Creek Dam".
From 71N get off at Polaris Parkway go east(right) at Africa Rd go North(left) Take this until you come to either Lewis Certer or Big Walnut the map shows both names. Go west(left) and the park will be on the north(right) side of the road

I have updated the first post. I know this is a quick start out of the winter series but it affords us the relaxed schedule that we have been without.
If there are any issues please post up asap and I will see what can be done. For now I am leaning towards all Sat Morning Comps.
I plan to call this done within a week.

There has still been ZERO input on entry fee.
Erik are you bound to work all of the Sats?
Your input is valued but I must take no replies as to mean you are cool with what is posted.

I admit, I love the Saturdays. But as usual, I'm flexible.

I could do $10 per event, that'd make that pot sweeter for sure! But $5 is all good, too.

on an AM schedule I'm for sundays and 10 bucks is fine with me

I personally would rather see Trophies go to the top ten. To Pay out five places is catering to the best drivers, rather than making it fun for everyone.

But this is not thinking of the other drivers who may not want to pay me for winning, nor the top five.

Its a fun thing, I vote we keep it fun, and if we do this our turnouts will show it.

Comping for money will keep alot of people from coming.

At only 5 bucks per person, with 7 events, you can afford trophies, and t-shirts for all participants. Why give it only to the top five, all will be putting an effort into the series. Who cares about a hundred bucks after all summer:roll: Vn 1500 will spend that just coming down and joining us.

I loose that in one day:shock:

so yea, I am all for it, but if its 10 and no shirts, or trophies to show for peoples efforts in actually completing the series. Dont' expect huge turnouts. And don't expect people to stick with the series just to fund a few drivers.

Keep it fun and I will run, because I would like to run with alot more guys than just 5;-)

I like the "blind drive" idea, that could be alot of fun!

Edit: Hey, if any of you want to do side bets for money, BRING IT ON!! I got 10 bucks per event on top of the 5!! put it in a pot as a side until the end of the series?

Oh, and this is just a suggestion, as you asked for opinions.

that makes alot of since and i'm all for just trophy's or whatever. i could really care less about taking everyone's money. i'm throwing out $30-$40 per event just in gas and entry fee any way
