Castle Creations surface products done?

Castle is no longer supporting the BLE controller, which I don't blame them for. Old firmware and hardware that's a pretty big mess to wade through. We are currently working on a firmware update for the BRXL and BR mini, along with other projects.

Oh cool!

What's the status on this, wanting a puller 400 with a br mini but only if it has active drag brake. There are no great lightweight 4s options for a light weight ESC for 4-6s that have active drag right now. Other then decasing a mamba x and ugg.

Sounds like your tinkering with programming in your videos.

Does the BR mini not have the holmes hold option?

It would keep my 12lb 1.55 truck level when lifting it by the rear tires.

BR mini does have the Holmes hold.

Active drag brake or active freewheeling is not a drag brake but rather implementation of the drag brake while giving small amounts of throttle. The effect is your truck wont begin to coast immediately after you give it throttle while descending since its still applying some drag brake.

Tekin and Castle do have this feature. After you try it you wont want to go back!

Is that enabled by default on the Mamba X? I don't remember that option in Castle Link, but I have a terrible memory.

It is enabled if you have drag brake enabled on Firmware Version 2.02 or newer.

I have both. Thank you.

Both the firmware and Castle Link software are over a year old. Any updates coming in recent months? Not that there's anything wrong with it currently.

That's what the holmes hold setting does.... "thumbsup"

No, holmes hold is different. i have tried both. Holmes hold is just a different implementation of a drag brake that uses the motor to actively push back and maintain its position.
it might accomplish something similar but it is different. Also why would JRH be wasting his time working on this if he already has it?

I know this is hard to convey with just words and feeling it is what really makes it set in, next best thing is a video.
Tekin has this feature and they call it active drag

Props for sticking with the Homles hold "thumbsup" I couldn't put up with the noises it brings with it.

Yeah, I don't use hold personally. I deal with a rig rolling if motor and gearing dont have enough drag.

Active freewheeling will be in the next castle link update. Was supposed to be the last but there was a bit of miscommunication
