As the tittle says I am starting a build thread for the v2 of a truck….. well it’s a v2 that uses basically nothing from the v1.

The v1 was an enduro with a 2.low trans and a 2700kv puller pro on 3s. Lasted fine for several trail runs as the beater truck until 1 event nearly killed it. Basically the body nearly got destroyed and the front diff decides wether or not the truck is 2wd or 4wd. And to upgrade the axles it would leave only the stock chassis left so time for a new body, and chassis!

So in comes the ssd trail king! Now I went this route for a few reasons. 1 it’s basically a factory upgraded scx10ii that doesn’t need much upgrades out of the box. 2 the diffs are much more durable than the elements. 3 I can reach the same od as the v1 using the stock transmission. 4 the interior will actually fit with little to no cutting!

The build is still in its fairly early stages. Chassis is mostly built with ssd aluminum shock towers, 20% od transfer case, 10% od front axle gears. To help prevent this truck from killing itself the motor and esc were swapped out for a Holmes br mini / 13t crawl master pro with stock pinion. The truck is also getting a custom set of intheworks links to fix the wheelbase issue with the Rc4wd body as well as shrink rc mounts.

Once I finish getting the bed bobbed and clearanced the truck will be going to a coworker to have custom bumpers and sliders made.

The goal of this truck is to be a backup c1 rig with as close to 60 scale points as possible to help compensate for my lack of experience in comps.
